To be eligible, an applicant must –
- be either an Indian citizen or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
- have completed graduation by June/July 2024
- be applying for the first time for 2024 Fellowship cohort (since July 2023)
The selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of INR 23,043 along with a housing allowance ranging from INR 5,300 to INR 10,000 (depending on the city).
Other benefits:

What do our Fellows do?
Our Fellows are placed in one of 8 cities across India (Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune), in an English medium government or low-income private school. Here, they spend 2 years as a full time class teacher or subject teacher (specifically English, Maths, Social Studies or Science) to Students from 1-10th standard
How can you apply?

Step 2: Click the ‘Register’ button and fill in the required registration details. (Note – If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID)
Step 3: Navigate to the ‘Apply Now’ button at the top right and side of the dashboard and click on it
Step 4: Now, click on the ‘Apply Now’ button, tick on the eligibility to check the eligibility.
Step 4: After successfully checking the eligibility, sign up via Gmail or Linkedin to begin with the application process. (Note – If the applicants already have an account, sign in using valid credentials)
Step 5: Fill in the relevant details, and click on the ‘Continue’ button to Register.
Step 6: After registering successfully, fill in the application form, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Furthermore, the selection process is divided into three stages –
Stage 1 – Application Form – Applicants must introduce themselves by providing information about their academic background, work experiences, reasons for wanting to join the fellowship, and their interests. Additionally, there will be an online English Assessment test to assess their English language skills because fellows will be required to teach in English as part of the application process.
Stage 2 – Telephonic Interview – After the online test, the selected applicants will be called for a 30-minute telephonic interview.
Stage 3 – Final Assessment – In the final stage, the selected candidates will participate in various activities with Teach For India and other applicants. These activities include sample teaching, critical thinking exercises, group activities, and interviews.
