Loading

Deadline for the application Friday, June 16th, 2023.

Women Enabled International (WEI) is a US 501(c)(3) global nonprofit that works to advance human rights at the intersection of gender and disability to respond to the lived experiences of women, girls, and gender-diverse people with disabilities; promote inclusion and participation and achieve transformative equality. Through advocacy and education, WEI strengthens international and regional human rights standards across a range of issues—including sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender-based and sexual violence, and participation and inclusion—from an intersectional gender and disability perspective.

Working in collaboration with women with disabilities-led organizations, international development organizations, disabled people’s organizations, and gender equality organizations worldwide, WEI also fosters cooperation across movements to improve understanding and develop cross-cutting advocacy strategies to realize the rights of all women, girls, and gender-diverse people. We do this through three programmatic strategies: (1) norm building and thought leadership, (2) capacity development, and (3) movement and cross-movement building and partners with numerous organizations across the globe, including in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

Position: Organizational Development Consultant
Reporting to: Maryangel García-Ramos, Executive Director
Timeframe: 4-6 months (between June and November 2023)

Background

Following a period of rapid growth and a recent leadership transition, WEI is in the process of organizational reflection and change. WEI welcomed its new Executive Director, Maryangel García-Ramos Guadiana, in October 2022 and we recently just finalized an exciting new 5-year strategic plan.

A core priority, as we prepare to implement this new strategic plan, is to establish organizational structures and processes that align with the organization’s principles of disability justice, feminist leadership, and community and staff well-being. WEI wants to ensure that our infrastructure and ways of working respond to the organization’s increased size; enable and promote leadership and professional growth across the organization; and foster cross-departmental communication and integration.

Project Overview

  • Work with Executive Director to design and support change management efforts to successfully implement the new strategic plan.
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to review and refine the organizational development priorities, including refining the organizational chart and developing staff job descriptions to support the growth and sustainability of the organization.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience with change management and organizational development.
  • Experience in creating and implementing measures to increase diversity, equity and inclusion and to foster and/or maintain a dynamic organizational culture.
  • General knowledge of global human rights work, working within multicultural, feminist, and disability rights and justice organizations and movements.
  • Demonstrated passion for WEI’s vision, mission, and strategic imperatives.
  • English proficiency essential, Spanish preferred.

Submission Guidelines:

Applicant should submit a current resume/curriculum vitae and a proposal document in English to personnel@womenenabled.org by Friday, June 16th, 2023.

The proposal should not exceed three (3) pages and should include the following:

  • A proposed base outline for planning implementation, including stages of activities, principles, methods of engaging full staff, etc.
  • A proposed timeline and budget.

Inquiries regarding this RFP, including accessibility accommodations, should be sent to personnel@womenenabled.org.

While this is not an employment opportunity, WEI is an equal opportunity employer and is firmly committed to having a diverse and inclusive team.
