1. Consultant – Facilities

Overview for Operations 

WRI Operations team supports the crucial front-line work of the organization, they directly interact and work with Donors, Partners, Government agencies, Statutory bodies, Trustees, Vendors, and Consultants in fielding their inquiries, providing support at all the fronts and solving problems.   So that the WRI programs can be implemented without any hurdles and the program staff and researchers can develop high quality research documents, plans and implement the programs at the field level.

WRI operations team consists of various functions such as Budget and Finance, Grants and Contracts, Legal Counsel, Human Resource, IT and Facilities management. Each role comes under the purview of operations and each function lead reports to the Director Operations and Director Operations report to the CEO of the Organization.

WRI Operations team strive for operational excellence across all functions starting with the recruitment, retention and management of WRI’s staff, our most important asset. We manage our endowment, the contributions entrusted to us, and our facilities in ways that are in line with our values and advance our mission. We maintain strict budgetary planning and financial controls to ensure that all contributions are managed in compliance with donors’ wishes.

How your day will unfold:

  • Overseeing any repair, maintenance and Facility upkeep work
  • Managing the facilities budget and maintaining the necessary documentation on record (maintenance reports, etc.) as required by the finance and compliance functions
  • Planning for the future by forecasting the facility’s upcoming needs and requirements
  • Support & Plan team activities and events as need be
  • General administrative tasks and activities
  • Prepare Inventory checklist, keep track of each and every asset in the office
  • Co-ordinate and resolve all account related queries with regards to vendor payments.
  • Knowledge on managing & improving internet services in the office.
  • Maintain and help in resolving general employee concerns with regards to office equipment and facility
  • Vendor Management – Sourcing and overseeing contracts, and negotiating rates and build a strong pipeline of repair maintenance vendors around the office
  • Primarily responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Delhi office, ensuring that the core facilities are well-maintained and conducting proactive maintenance
  • Supervising teams of staff across different functions like security, cleaning, maintenance
  • Ensuring that vendor and utilities bills are tracked and vendor payments are closed out on time

Qualifications & requirements we seek:

  • 2 to 3 Years of relevant fulltime experience
  • Good English communication skills – – including the ability to communicate technical information
  • Street savvy and ability to negotiate terms with vendors

2. Intern – Transport

About your role:

WRI India is supporting Global Road Safety to reduce fatalities and injuries from road traffic crashes and the selected candidates will join our Streets and Safety, Urban Transport team to be based in Delhi.
The individual will assist the team in street design/neighbourhood planning and road safety projects in Delhi & other cities through provision of safe infrastructure, capacity building, community awareness programs, workshops, analysis, project-related data, documentation, Planning and Design, and coordination between different stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with his/her supervisor.

For this position, WRI is looking for candidates with strong graphic communication skills, including demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, Sketchup, and the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).

How your day will unfold:

The candidate will undertake and oversee specific responsibilities as are listed below.

  • The candidate should have adequate understanding of Street design principles & Guidelines.
  • Support in the production of conceptual and technical design drawings using AutoCAD, Sketchup, or other 2D or 3D software.
  • Support with the layout of publications and documents by creating relevant illustrations, diagrams, charts, infographics, and other visual content for WRI.
  • Support with publications, presentation decks, social media, and other materials.
  • Assist the team in the timely delivery of activities as outlined in the project.

Qualifications and Requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or planning and master’s degree in the field of Urban design, Landscape design, Urban planning & transport planning. (0 to 1 years of work experience)
  • Proficiency in English and Hindi is a must. (Reading and Writing).
  • Clear ways of communicating research ideas.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data from various primary and secondary sources.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD, Sketchup is a must.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe suite and GIS is preferred.
  • General awareness of road safety, the street & Junction design will be preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as the ability to collaborate with other stakeholders on deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Stipend: 25000 Per Month

Location: Delhi, India

Duration: 6 Months
