Wadhwani Initiative for Sustainable Healthcare (WISH) is a flagship program of Lords Education & Health Society, a registered non-profit organization in India. WISH works towards improving the quality of and access to primary healthcare services for the under-served communities in India. WISH is implementing healthcare models through partnership with state governments, international agencies and the private sector by appropriately introducing promising healthcare innovations in the public health system in order to build an equitable, innovation-led and evidence-based quality healthcare system within easy reach of the underserved populations.

1. Public Policy Consultant

WISH Foundation team at the National Health Authority

WISH Foundation works to build an equitable, innovation-led healthcare ecosystem to make quality healthcare services accessible and affordable to all Indian citizens. For the last three years, WISH Foundation has supported the set-up and management of an ‘Innovation Unit’ at the National Health Authority (NHA). The NHA manages the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the flagship healthcare initiative of the Government of India covering 500 million Indians. WISH Foundation’s team at NHA has designed and led various novel programmes for innovation adoption, identified challenges and solutions for NHA internal processes, and supported policymaking efforts on improved healthcare delivery.

WISH Foundations seeks a dynamic individual to join its team at the National Health Authority. The ideal candidate should be able to perform well in a fast-paced environment and ready to take on multiple tasks. Some of the core competencies expected of the consultant are managing multiple stakeholders (public and private), drafting policy briefs, strategic notes, and reports.

Essential:

● The consultant should preferably have a degree in management/public policy/public administration/public health etc.

● 5+ years of experience across consulting and government advisory roles

● Must have excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.

● Vibrant, dynamic, and highly motivated with a sense of initiative and ownership

 Desirable:

● A track record of working on operational excellence projects

● Previously worked with Government, development partners and corporates.

● Understanding of health sector and data analytics will be preferred

● Passionate about working on public policy, innovation and digital health space

Broad Role:

● Developing the knowledge management roadmap to accelerate sourcing, sharing and practical application of innovative and ground-breaking technologies and solutions of the health sector

● Support in developing management systems, including Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) for different components focused on innovative approaches.

● Applying a systematic approach in collecting the existing knowledge is easily accessible, visually meaningful, and understandable, and digested for different audiences

● Assisting various wings in procurement activities – RFP design, price discovery, market analysis etc

● Supporting in crafting out a scalability and sustainability roadmap for the Market Intelligence system

2. Design thinking Consultant

● 5-6 years of work experience in applying behavioral economics/design thinking principles to consulting projects

● Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Vibrant, dynamic, and highly motivated with a sense of initiative and ownership

Desirable:

● Experience/Interest in Healthcare

● Experience of working with government projects

Broad Role:

● Reviewing and evaluating the existing policies at NHA with a view to improve the efficiency of its policy implementation

● Identifying gaps in the current system and applying behavioral economics/design thinking principles to solve them

● Conceptualizing design processes/nudge mechanisms/innovative interventions bringing together multi-disciplinary approaches to solve for the identified gaps

● Ensuring on-ground implementation of the designed processes and mechanisms by working together with different stakeholders of interest

● Creating a monitoring framework to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of the processes implemented

● Frequent outcome tracking and course-correction, as needed

● Conducting ongoing background research on global and regional best practices, industry updates, etc. and maintaining a repository of resources to sustain knowledge management
