At Walmart Global Tech India (WGTI) we are writing a new chapter on CSR. This role will shape the future of CSR to advance community impact in India. Our Corporate Social Responsibility charter is to ensure that we build deep partnerships with our community. All the while, promoting the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and compliance. Our external stakeholder engagement is to interact with all industry body associations to build advocacy strategy.

Your Responsibility :

Reporting to the Director for External Communications and CSR, we are looking at a candidate to strategize, implement and drive our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. This role will involve the following responsibilities :

  • Arrive at a location wide CSR strategy and drive the strategy in collaboration with senior leaders and associates
  • Design and implement systems to ensure conformance with statutory requirements
  • Ensure the rigorous implementation of CSR policy and guidelines
  • Administer and track the company’s CSR budget to achieve maximum social impact
  • Partner with the internal, external and digital communication teams to design and drive CSR communication across all relevant platforms
  • Build and sustain relationships with NGOs such as Sparsha, Goonj and Sahasradeepika that the SMILE team has been closely working with over the past years
  • Coach and educate the SMILE team and other associates to ensure better implementation of CSR activities
  • Educate and advise cross-functional leaders on the latest happenings in CSR to enhance our branding as a socially responsible organization
  • Maintain and monitor CSR metrics, dashboards and reports to measure success. Garner the learnings and incorporate them into future strategy and initiatives
  • Research best CSR practices adopted by companies and actively consult with team members and management as needed to formulate, recommend and implement solutions that go beyond the obvious in a timely manner
  • Liason and build strong working relationships with key Government Departments, NGOs and community stakeholders to build brand value
  • Support local community, charity events & initiatives that will help the company to build a positive image
  • Seek good sponsorship opportunities or projects that will increase awareness of the brand and build a favorable image in the community
  • Effectively represent Walmart’s philosophy, approach and efforts to give back to community with external individuals, partner organizations and key community partners and at key external events
  • Work closely with legal and compliance team
  • Work closely with global stakeholders to ensure alignment

Your Qualifications & Skills

  • You hold a Bachelor’s/Masters or an equivalent degree in Social Work, Finance, Marketing or related field
  • You should have 8-10 years of experience in designing and implementing CSR initiatives in a complex, fast paced global organisation
  • Strong knowledge of CSR laws, human rights laws and other relevant laws as may be applicable
  • Passion for Walmart’s mission and its commitment to give back to community
  • Proven ability to collaborate multiple, complex and global projects that are company-wide
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to tailor style and content specifically to each audience
  • Ability to influence and build sustainable relationships with people at every level of the organization to assist in the development and maintenance of the organization’s global CSR strategy
  • Highly-effective analytical skills and ability to translate metrics, research, and trends into strategy
  • Expertise in implicit bias research and corresponding organizational interventions
  • Superior facilitation skills (one-on-one conversations, team sessions and large groups)
  • Strategic mindset with a bias towards action and creative problem solving
  • Flexibility to travel when needed
