Team Summary
The India and South Asia (INSA) team creates and delivers communication programs that drive Visa’s business growth, advance and protect the company’s reputation, supporting the region’s leaders and prominent business functions. We work across internal teams, client and employee communication activities to promote Visa’s ongoing strategy to extend our payments network into new areas of opportunity and position ourselves as the partner of choice for banks, merchants, fintechs, technology companies and governments. In close partnership with the business functions, the Corporate Communication team defines the company’s positions in the region on a wide range of industry topics and delivers corresponding thought leadership content.
The Senior Director, Head of Corporate Communication INSA is a key member of the leadership team, and reports to the Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific Corporate Communication and the Group Country Manager, INSA.
What a Head of Corporate Communication, Asia Pacific does at Visa:
- Set strategic direction for all communications in India and South Asia by creating clear priorities and executing strategic, proactive and reactive communication programs that align with the global and regional communications efforts and positions Visa as an innovative company driving economic growth among clients, employees, regulators, consumers and other influencers.
- Manage Visa’s reputation proactively and lead reactive and crisis communication across the region in conjunction with business partners to ensure appropriate, timely communication with key stakeholders.
- Communicate the value of Visa by defining and executing a proactive leadership platform by using a diverse set of programs that include external media relations (including traditional, digital, and social), employee communications, client engagement and communications, executive communications, public affairs, corporate responsibility, events and crisis management.
- Work across the organization, and across the communications function, to ensure the Visa’s messaging, positioning, and narratives are consistent, for all audiences. Act as the voice of communications across the company.
- Drive employer brand and employee engagement through communications and events, also manage activation of events and initiatives and drive awareness of programs and business objectives.
- Partner with Marketing to drive impactful results that help advance brand health and reputation.
- Partner with Corporate Strategy and Government Engagement teams to deliver public affairs programs to shape the regulatory and business environment.
- Ensure a culture of cooperation and relationship building at every level of the organization, build and continually revisit organizational structures that best support a culture of collaboration.
- Manage strategy and content for marquee client engagement events.
- Lead people and encourage creative risk-taking and innovation, acting as a sponsor as needed to turn ideas into actions.
- Establish a goal-oriented culture and continually raise the bar for organizational achievement by ensuring all programs have clear goals, metrics, and a measurement approach that fosters continuous improvement and return on investment.

Qualifications
What you will need:
- 15+ years of relevant experience within the broader payments industry, or adjacent sectors where technology (digital / e and m-commerce) feature strongly.
- Track record of building and leading strategic communications programs that drive measurable business results using multiple channels including digital.
- Recognized as an industry thought leader based on tenure, expertise and a track record of success.
- Outstanding people leader with a track record of building high performing teams through coaching, a commitment to developing talent and building a strong succession pipeline.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate company strategy and financial performance into clear and concise messages that engage targeted audiences.
- Ability to balance between day-to-day high level functional execution and development of the strategic direction.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate messages through stories in a compelling, visual manner.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about digital and social channels.
- Track record of building strong relationships, trust and confidence with senior leaders, as well as with prominent influencers and stakeholders, including the media.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing & advising executives during time of stress/crisis.
- Crisis preparation and crisis management skills.
