VCF is a not-for-profit organization, supported by Tata Trusts, which focuses on a wide range of themes including agriculture, livelihood promotion, sanitation, nutrition, education, skill development and crafts among others.

Proposed Project
Vijayavahini Charitable Foundation will be implementing a livelihoods Program in the Alluri Sitarama Raju District of Andhra Pradesh. The objective is to work intensively with 10,000 Tribal households to raise their income levels through enhanced crop productivity, promotion of entrepreneurs and strengthening of farmer collectives.

Brief Job Description
The responsibilities of the position include developing farm based livelihood strategies, creating awareness, capacity building, field demonstrations, and grooming the project team. Establishment of market linkages and promotion of sustainable livelihoods.

1 Work closely with the team in developing program strategies that enhance agriculture and horticulture based livelihoods.

2 Provide technical knowledge on pre and post-harvest technologies and develop POPs for specified crops.

3. Develop partnerships with government/private sector/technical institutions on various aspects like capacity building of various stakeholders (community cadre, entrepreneurs), market support, technical assistance, technology support, enterprise management etc.

4. Develop Annual Work Plan to achieve project KPIs.

5. Develop training modules and train the farmers on PoP.

6. Support the stakeholders in enhancing their capacities by periodically involving the expertise of reputed Institutions

7. Work towards convergence of all applicable government schemes for benefiting the tribal community towards achieving the project objectives

8. Regular monitoring of activities to achieve the quality and timeliness of desired outcomes in the assigned
area.

9. Process documentation and verification of the case studies and impact of the interventions.

10. Coordinate and guide the field team in effectively piloting interventions, towards scaling up across identified regions.

11. Submission of plans and reports periodically.

12. Represent Vijayavahini Charitable foundation in professional events.

13 .Any other tasks assigned by the organisation lead based on project demand

Job Specifications
Knowledge & Skills

Good negotiation and influencing skills supported by excellent communication skills;

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English;
  • Computer proficiency with specific familiarity with commonly used Windows and MS Office software;
  • Problem-Solving skills and curiosity to learn new things
  • Knowledge of Telugu is good to have;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with strong facilitation skills, and
    ability to analyse reports, and plan and monitor projects.
  • Ability to make effective use of resources and comparative advantage to strengthen programs and
    partnerships with government.

Competencies:
Essential:

Desirable:

  • Experience in working with the following crops would be preferred:

o Turmeric, pepper, coffee, cashew and paddy.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Agri extension/research with a reputed organization.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Graduation in Agri/Horticulture.

2. Cluster Coordinator

Brief Job Description
The Primary responsibility will be to implement the objectives of the project in the assigned cluster.

1 Develop Annual Work Plan to achieve project KPIs

2 Finalize locations and farmers for introducing best practices/demonstrations.

3 Conduct review meetings with team for effective planning and implementation

4 Develop and Capacitate community institutions.

5 Coordinate with FPO Board in finalizing service providers.

6 Develop a seasonal training calendar in consultation with technical experts

7 Plan the technical trainings and capacity-building programs for the team, community members and institutions based on needs identified.

8 Build rapport with Mandal level line department officials and community representatives.

9 Participate in FPO Board Meetings to assist in Business Plan Development and Implementation.

10 Enable and forward and backward market linkages to support the FPOs

11 Supervision of interventions in the assigned villages

12 Validation of the data collected by team members.

13 Conduct the baseline, mid-line and impact studies.

14 Travel to field locations and monitor the project demonstrations

15 Document case studies and best practices in the project location.

16 Submission of plans and reports periodically.

17 Execute multi-thematic interventions as per the need of the location.
