1. Project Associate -I

Age limit – 35 years

Minimum Qualification and Experience

Masters degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized University

Desirable Qualification & Experience

Experience in mammalian cell culture/E. coli culture; knowledge of recombinant DNA technology/gene cloning techniques/immunology techniques/ experience of mouse and/or hamster handling and experimentation/ recombinant protein expression and purification techniques.

Monthly Emoluments

Rs. 31,000/- +HRA Scholars who are selected through

(a) National Eligibility Tests CSIR UGC NET including lectureship or GATE or

(b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Department and their agencies and institutions

Rs.25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Project : Development of a recombinant vaccine against the Hepatitis-E virus and immunological characterization of Hepatitis-E immune cohort and potential vaccine recipient cohort

Age limit 40 years

Minimum Qualification and Experience

PhD in Biological Sciences/ Bioinformatics/ Computer Science or associated fields from a recognized University with one year post-qualification experience.

At least two first author research papers in Science Citation indexed (SCl) journal.

Desirable Qualification & Experience

Preference will be given to those who have experience/ knowledge in mass spectrometry techniques and statistical analysis of data to the study of Metabolic associated liver disease. Experience in drafting, writing, and editing scientific reports, papers, journal articles, and abstracts will be an added advantage for selection.

Masters degree in any branch of Life Science or Pharmacology from a recognized University with two years of post – qualification experience in animal cell culture and molecular biology techniques.

Desirable Qualification & Experience  

Experience in Ø In-vitro DMPK studies with LC[1]MS expertise Ø In-vitro screening of compounds / herbal extracts.

Monthly Emoluments

Rs.35,000/- +HRA to Scholars who are selected through

(a) National Eligibility Tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or

(b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government and their Agencies and Institutions.

 Rs. 28,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Desirable Qualification & Experience

Prefrerence will be given to the candidates who have experience in:

Ø Animal handling and experimentation.

Ø Immunology and Molecular biology techniques.

Ø Preparation of SOP, Planning and carry out experiments in ABSL3, BSL3 and BSL2 lab.

Ø Working with infectious agents.

5. Project Associate-II

Age Limit 35 years

Minimum Qualification and Experience

Master degree in any branch of Life Science or Pharmacology from a recognized University with two years of post – qualification experience in the relevant field.

Desirable Qualification & Experience  

Prefrerence will be given to the candidates who have experience in:

Ø Animal handling and experimentation.

Ø Experimentation involing Infectious agents.

Ø Immunology and molecular biology techniques such as FACS and ELISA.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

Bachelor’s  degree in life Sciences or equivalent from a recognized University with three years’ of post qualification experience in R&D. OR

Masters degree in Sciences or equivalent from a recognized University

Desirable Qualification & Experience  

Expertise in

Ø Recombinant protein purification, biochemical and/or biophysical assays and molecular biology are required.

Ø Tissue culture work, RNA work, RT-PCR etc.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:

1. These are short-term positions and extension will be granted subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbents and tenure of the project for which they are selected. Those appointed to these positions will not have any claim for regularization of their employment.

2. All educational, professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized Board/University.

3. The experience requirement specified shall be experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications required for the post.

4. The age limit, qualification, experience and other requirements may be relaxed at the discretion of the competent authority, in case of candidates who are otherwise suitable. In case candidates are not found suitable for the posts notified, they can be offered lower post / lower emoluments on the recommendation of the Selection Committee.

5. Age and other relaxations for direct recruits and departmental candidates:

• By 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities.
• By 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities.
• For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) falling under the following categories: (i) UR – 10 years , ii) OBC – 13 years (iii) SC/ST – 15 years
• For Ex-servicemen upto the extent of service rendered in defence forces (Army, Navy & Air force) plus 3 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months attested service.
• Age is relaxable for Government servants up to 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government, from time to time.
• There is no upper age limit for the Institute employees who are treated as departmental candidates.
