Our model of rural development attempts transformation  through  better  rural livelihoods, rural education and rural healthcare, skilling and involving the community, the government and the marketplace.

Vision
To enable the most impoverished rural communities in India to achieve their full potential by ensuring they have equal access to the opportunities available to everyone else. Our aim is to help communities tap into opportunities and acquire the means, skills and understanding that will transform their lives for the better from one generation to another. We want change that is self-driven, sustainable and impactful so we can help transform rural India.

Mission
To create local and scalable solutions for rural communities that foster dignity and prosperity in villages. A community-driven sustainable model of empowerment for rural India. These rural development initiatives provide women and the youth with skills and information to make informed choices that will help them overcome poverty and embrace prosperity.

The goal is to bring about a change in the lives of the most deprived in rural communities, in the poorest 100,000 villages that we call ‘Stranded India.

Location : Selected block headquarters of Behraich, Lakhimpur Khiri and Basti in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM) has partnered with Transforming Rural India Foundation (TRIF) to strengthen their ongoing efforts and create model for scaling rural entrepreneurship. The aim of the partnership is to promote ‘inclusive entrepreneurship’, a phenomenon that is characterized by systemic change that enables under-represented groups such as youth and women to access entrepreneurship opportunities, thereby leading to social inclusion, quality employment, and sustainable economic growth. The program, envisions to accelerate and scale up inclusive micro[1]enterprises that promote local and sustainable economic growth, while encouraging innovation and, particularly, technological innovation and digitization. The effort is to pilot and demonstrate the model in selected blocks and support in scaling up in 78 blocks of engagement with the UPSRLM. This ambitious project provides an opportunity for outstanding and brilliant professionals to contribute towards nation building and to make a difference among the poorest communities living in the most backward regions in India.

Duration : 2 years

Candidate Program

• 2-3 years of full-time work experience with rural enterprises.
• Bachelor’s Degree/PG Diploma in enterprise management, business management, commerce, Rural Development, or any other closely related field.
• Prior experience working with SRLM, leading CSO, multilateral organisations is preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be fluent in English and Hindi.
• Must be willing to stay and travel in rural areas of UP.
• Salary will be commensurate with work experience.

Opportunity

• Lead the block pilots to develop scalable model for inclusive entrepreneurship involving public administration, rural entrepreneurs and local stakeholders.
• Be involved in key decision making on TRIF & UPSRLM’s strategic intent to scale non-farm livelihoods.
• Introduce and nurture private sector partnerships, innovation and entrepreneurship with UPSRLM.
• Establish long-term collaborative partnerships with leading CSOs, government bodies and other agencies
