Senior Change Manager:  Global Shared Services, Governance & Ops Enablement Team

Do you want to make a meaningful difference in managing change within Thomson Reuters?  The Senior Change Manager within the Shared Service Center Governance and Operations Enablement team will be supporting the change initiatives within the Content & Research Modernization Program along with change initiatives from the global teams compromising the Shared Service Center.

The Senior Change Manager will create and execute internal change and communication plans, conduct change assessments, and apply findings to increase employee adoptability of change within the team and department.  Typical scope of projects will be greater than 6 months and involve a cross functional team from operations, technology, and editorial.

This role will work with staff within editorial and content operations, corporate technology, and the business units to execute the program vision. The role will be highly visible and requires regular interaction with senior leadership.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Senior Change Manager, you will: 

  • Lead global cross functional teams of project managers, technology and editorial addressing change readiness and managing risk.
  • Develop, implement, and execute change and communications strategies and plans in an environment of continual change.
  • Conduct needs analysis to understand resistance areas and resilience gaps, resulting in strategies and programs that increase change adoption, increase employee engagement, and reduce attrition.
  • Assess key stakeholders across the client organization for impact analysis and change readiness.
  • Support and coach senior leaders, managers, and supervisors.
  • Integrate and monitor change management activities into project plans.
  • Possess solid understanding of how people go through change and the change process.
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.
  • Influence the work of others outside of direct authority in partnership with project managers to ensure milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Identify, assess, manage and communicate risks and issues.
  • The global nature of the typical project team will require some flexibility in working hours to ensure sufficient interaction across time zones.

Skills required

  • You’re a fit for the role of Senior Change Manager if you have:
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, organizational design or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 plus years of organizational change management utilizing change management methodologies (PROSCI, ADKAR, Kotter) leading global, enterprise-wide change programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams through significant transformation with ambiguous scope and audacious vision.
  • Confident self-starter, able to manage senior stakeholders, work autonomously at times and use own initiative to lead issues and generate strategies.
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere to ensure successful campaigns are delivered that hit the mark with campaign recipients; courageously speaks truth to power; is the voice of the employees and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker who understands organizational issues and challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.
  • Preferred Change management certification (example PROSCI, ACMP) highly desirable.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, remote, and virtual teams in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities and proactively drive changes.
  • Experience interacting with senior management and business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint,
