The International Innovation Corps (IIC) is a social impact program that operates out of the University of Chicago Trust in India. The IIC, founded in 2013, recruits and places high-performing, passionate young professionals with up to five years of experience and top-tier academic backgrounds from India, on teams that work on-site with governments and foundations to implement large-scale projects to address India’s most critical development challenges. The program aims at creating scalable, sustainable, and long-term social impact. IIC teams design interventions, pilot solutions, implement and iterate, and record and scale best practices by engaging stakeholders.

The International Innovation Corps (IIC) is looking to hire an Intern to support one of their Project Management Units. Program Description

The intern would be working with a Project Management Unit that is driving a ward level waste management plan in collaboration with the Department of Environment, Government of Delhi.

The University of Chicago Trust (the Trust) is a charitable trust in India, established in 2008 by alumnus of The University of Chicago. The objectives of the UChicago Trust are to provide opportunities for grants to support educational programs, research programs and activities for the betterment of India.

Consultant Position: Communications Intern, International Innovation Corps

Must be legally authorized to work in India.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Designing posters/infographics/gifs to raise awareness regarding waste segregation.
  • Contribute to the creation of audio and video material for social media, including basic conceptualization,
    production, and execution.
  • Assist with video production – operate cameras, set up lights, and run audio equipment.
  • Execute video editing projects.
  • Write scripts for short videos.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other team members to resolve technical or creative isues, and successfully
    deliver key outputs.

Skills Required:

  • Graphic design.
  • Video production.
  • Final cut pro and Adobe Creative Suite – Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Audition.
  • Photo, audio, and video editing skills.
  • Experience handling lights, camera, and sound equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Pursuing or have completed undergraduate/postgraduate degree in mass communication, multimedia, journalism, video production, media studies, or other related fields.
  • Prior multimedia experience will be an advantage.
  • Keen eye for detail, eager to learn, understanding of social media, interest in story-telling.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

All items produced from this project will be owned by the University of Chicago Trust.

This will be an unpaid internship.

The intern will be provided an experience certificate by the University of Chicago Trust upon successful completion of the internship period.
