Founder’s Office Member (Remote) – The Better India

The Better India is the world’s largest impact-driven, positive stories platform. We reach over 250 million readers each month, across languages – English, Hindi, Gujarati and Malayalam. Our solutions-oriented reporting features stories of changemakers and innovators, with a highlight on small enterprises, grassroots innovations, sustainability initiatives, and more. Inspired by our protagonists, thousands of readers have made positive changes to the community around them, each year.

In addition, The Better India has partnered with social impact organizations, corporates, NGOs, the government and citizens to organise and highlight initiatives delivering real impact. We have helped raise relief money, bring about economic independence to the needy and revive degraded environments and lakes, amongst other activities.

We at The Better India are looking for an entrepreneurial and dynamic person to join us in building and “better”-ing processes and strategies with only one goal in mind – large scale positive impact. (There will be many smaller goals within the realm of large-scale positive impact, but we’ll address that along the way.)

We have a strong core team consisting of ISB alumni, having several years of industry experience in building products, companies and solving challenging problems at scale. On this mission, we are backed by some of the most respected investors – Elevar Equity and Intellecap along with a slew of angel investors including Mahindra Group’s Anand Mahindra, Padma Shri Awardee Mohandas Pai, Myntra’s Raveen Sastry among others.

What would you work on?

TBI has three internal driving engines – Editorial, Brand Partnerships and Marketing. For the first month, you will spend time with each function to identify gaps and challenges and then later pick up smaller projects within each team.

There is no fixed set of responsibilities for this role, but if you insist, here is a sneak peek:

• Work directly with the founders to solve key product, organizational and operational level challenges
• Research, model, evaluate, and plan go-to-market strategies for new and existing products
• Conceptualise and work closely with the founders to help launch new products and initiatives in the following areas – impact, content, sales and people and culture
• Evaluate and improve current processes, create metrics and KRAs

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a hustler who is as good at executing ideas as coming up with them, and someone who thrives in and builds through chaos, action and a fast-paced startup vibe. Someone who wants to build something at scale! Apply if you

• Have 3 – 5 years of total experience with a minimum 2 years experience in a high growth startup
• Have managed implementation of new processes and systems required for scaling the business requirements
  Are really good with numbers and logic and can learn and do anything
• Have an understanding of budgets and business planning
• Have a keen interest in the impact sector and a strong purpose at heart

If you get shortlisted, there will be a small introductory round (to get to know each other better), post which you will receive a challenge (that you can work on remotely) to assess your technical fit for the role.
