Summer Internship Programme under SSR-SERB – Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS)

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.

Since its inception, the Vision of the TISS has been to be an institution of excellence in higher education that continually responds to changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge, towards creating a people-centred, ecologically sustainable and just society that promotes and protects dignity, equality, social justice and human rights for all.

Two months Summer Internship Programme under SSR-SERB

Applications are invited for Summer Internship position under SSR Scheme of DST-SERB project “Occurrence of pharmaceutical and personal care products and Associated Antibiotic Resistance in the Aquatic environment : A Correlation Perspective with urban Bionetwork”under POWER scheme at the Centre for Ecology, Environment and Sustainable Development, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Guwahati Off- Campus.

Essential Qualification: Students of M.Sc./M.Tech/B.Tech (Biotechnology/Microbiology/Environmental Science) or the students in the final year of their PG from the discipline of Environmental Science/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology or allied subjects are encouraged apply.

Candidates having experience of Field sampling, microbiological studies/ antibiotics will be preferred.

Stipend: Rs.5000 p.m. for two months only (Maximum 10000/-).

Selection Criteria: Students will be selected based on their academic profile and research proposal. Selected candidates will be intimated by email only regarding their selection.

General Conditions:

1. Selected student will be supported by a financial assistantship of Rs. 10000 (@5000pm for 2 month only).

2. Financial support for other activities like travel, boarding and lodging will not be
provided.

3. Student will have to make their own arrangements for stay during the dissertation
period.
