We combine technical expertise and business perspective to assess markets, analyze supply chains, and pilot new technologies and tools in collaboration with market leaders such as Mars Wrigley Confectionary, Walmart, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the UNDP, and thought leaders such as the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP), NABARD, and the Sustainable Food Lab. We help farmers to increase their incomes through the supply of quality production to higher value markets. We also solve complex agricultural problems to create value for farmers and other members of the supply chain.

Pursuant to its mission, Tanager is seeking experienced and talented professionals in the Agriculture Extension Officer – Research  position, for its Shubh Mint V 2.0 project based in Lucknow & Barabanki project Areas. Extension Officer- Research will be responsible for conducting the overall agricultural research activities, field trial for the crop specific research and any qualitative measurements related to the crop for maintaining quality standards. This Position is for Barabanki and Adjacent  project Area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research on experimental plots:

• Preparing Research plots under the guidance of Research Associate.
• Collecting the soil samples and facilitate in soil testing for both Micro & Macro Nutrient under supervision of Research Associate.
• Monitoring the research plots periodically and facilitating corrective measures, if required.
• Facilitate in conducting training to the research plot farmers for implementing the new activities under the supervision of Research Associate.

Field Data Collection:

• Capturing the weather and other relevant data from research plots in the prescribed format as advised by Technical Director and provide the consolidated data to the Research Associate.
• Maintaining weekly, fortnightly & monthly data for any essential changes in research plots.

Laboratory Testing:

• Assist the Research Associate in conducting the testing for the oil content in the crop through the prescribed equipment.
• Participating in other project activities as and when required and other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATION:

Education and Experience

Minimum education:

• Diploma or Graduate in agriculture or equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Agricultural Research.

Knowledge and Skills

• Good computer skills in a Windows based environment i.e.-Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Internet, Online Form Filling
• Good communication skill, basic Knowledge of English, fluency in written and spoken Hindi is required.
• Ability to interact with all levels of stakeholders in a professional manner.
• Must have a valid driving license.
• Willingness and ability to travel within the state, as necessary.
• Must be Indian citizens
