We set out to fight hunger, poverty and climate change in 2018. After carrying out some volunteering and small scale activities, we formed ourselves into a charitable trust in May 2018. Over the last 2+ years our primary beneficiaries have been Marginal farmers (farmers with holding of less than 1 hectare) Waste workers and rag pickers Migrant and daily wage workers affected by the lockdown imposed in March 2020.
We were recognized as a charitable trust under section 80G and 12A of the IT Act
We’re a small team heavily dependent on the communities who are also our beneficiaries.
About the job
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a 50 lakh fruit tree AGRO-HORTICULTURE project in the districts of Mirzapur, Sonebhadra, Chitrakoot, and Mahoba within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members. The candidate should have a Master’s Degree in Agriculture/ Agriculture Engineering/ Social Development (TISS/IRMA) with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
The project involves planning, managing, and ensuring the survival of over 50 Lakh fruit trees in the villages of Mirzapur, Sonebhadra, Chitrakoot, and Mahoba districts in 2022. SGI helps small and marginal farmers to plant and nurture fruit trees in a part of their farmland to help fight climate change while alleviating hunger and poverty.
