St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences (SJNAHS) is a self-financing private Institution. St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru established in 1963 by the CBCI with the aim of training healthcare personnel committed to serving the poor in the margins, was dedicated as a memorial of the XXXVIII International Eucharistic Congress held in Bombay in 1964 and named after St. John the Baptist, the Patron of Pope John XXIII, who was an ardent supporter of this initiative of the Catholic Church in India.

The public relations officer (PRO) is the person responsible for all communications, public relations, and public affairs in an organization. Intended to work on setting the right image of the Institution among its audience. The PRO is responsible for conducting and managing all PR Events and Media Relations for the organization.

Responsibilities
1. Create with innovative and engaging public relations and media campaigns.
2. Collaborate with other departments to create promotional content.
3. Write, edit and review all media content and press releases.
4. Handle any PR related issue that may arise.
5. Maintain good relationships with all media houses.
6. Organise PR activities to promote the Institutional Services and serve as the main contact.
7. Keep up with media and audience opinions regularly.
8. Study PR trends and use best practices.
9. Regularly submit PR reports.

Requirements

  • Qualification:Graduate or Post Graduate Degree preferably in Public Relations, Journalism or other related courses.
  • Experience:Minimum 8 years of experience with media or public relations in a large hospital/ healthcare setting will be an advantage.
  • Excellent writing, oral presentation and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and Social Media.
  • A strong presence of mind and analytical skill.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Calm mind in a sometimes-stressful environment.
