Senior Researcher : SPRF India

SPRF India is a dynamic public policy think tank based in New Delhi, committed to advancing data-driven and non-partisan research. Our work focuses on diverse areas such as Governance, Economy, Human Rights, Security, and Environment. We engage with young researchers to shape policy narratives that reflect the aspirations of a vibrant, youthful nation.

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Researcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead research projects, mentor junior researchers, and contribute to the organization’s mission by fostering innovative policy research and building strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

○ Mentor and guide a team of researchers, providing expertise in methodologies and project management.
○ Oversee multiple research projects, ensuring high-quality outputs and mentoring interns as needed.

Research Strategy:

○ Design and direct the implementation of SPRF’s research agenda, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
○ Manage research workflows, ensuring prompt delivery to editorial and communications teams.
○ Foster collaboration between research and communications teams for smooth information flow and timeline adherence.

Dissemination of Research:

○ Provide strategic guidance on research projects, supporting both individual and team-led initiatives.
○ Ensure the development of at least 8 edited publications in various formats each quarter.

Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement:

○ Cultivate and strengthen relationships with policymakers, funders, and other key stakeholders.
○ Engage with existing contacts and expand networks to enhance research impact.

Thought Leadership:

○ Act as a thought leader in SPRF’s focus areas, offering expert insights and contributing to policy discourse.

Proposals and Grants:

○ Assist with the development of research proposals and identify funding opportunities.
○ Manage grants and support research initiatives through effective proposal writing.

External Engagement:

○ Serve as the liaison between the research team and external contributors, enhancing fellowship and photo story projects.
○ Collaborate with the Board of Trustees for guidance during various events.

Events and Outreach:

○ Support SPRF-hosted and external events with research and outreach efforts, representing SPRF as needed.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or related fields.
• Over 5 years of research experience, particularly in think tanks or policy-focused roles.
• Proven expertise in managing complex projects and research teams.
• Strong foundation in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Successful publication record, including policy papers and journal articles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities to motivate and manage staff.
• Proficiency in statistical tools such as STATA or R is advantageous.
• Preferred experience with fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations.
