Slam Out Loud Founded by Harvard, NUS & Teach for India Alumni, Slam Out Loud is a non-profit in India, transforming Arts Education and Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Our mission is to bring the power of arts to 20M children by 2025 and transform the art period into a space where all Indian children can find their voice through creative expression.

Slam Out Loud works with teachers, field experts and professional artists to create curriculum resources, design and implement programmes that help children build Creative Confidence skills (creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, self-esteem, and empathy) through art forms such as visual arts, poetry, storytelling and theatre.

Our online and offline programmes have so far reached more than 10.5+ Million children in 19 countries and 23 Indian states. Our work has been recognised by the OECD, World Bank and UNESCO and our partners include UNICEF, GirlRising, HP and Nilekani Philanthropies.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Slam Out Loud is seeking an Associate for the Founder’s office who will work closely with our CEO and Co-Founder, Jigyasa Labroo, and the different teams at SOL to execute fundraising, networking, scheduling and reporting tasks. The role provides exposure to the different challenges facing and projects involving senior management. This person should have strong network building, research and time-management skills.

As a representative of the Founder’s office, you will often be in front of high-value funders, and international foundations and need attention to detail, and will often be working under tight deadlines.

As an Associate, you are expected to:

Administration, Communication and Management:

  • Assist the CEO in fundraising- supporting lead generation, research, proposal writing, editing and agenda creation
  • Communicate and liaise with funders, retail donors and partner organizations on behalf of the CEO, including managing an extremely active calendar, helping to draft agendas and follow-ups from important meetings, preparing correspondence and planning events
  • Manage administrative tasks such as: arranging travel and coordinating activities all while staying updated on changing priorities and events and adjusting accordingly
  • Research and write briefs or bios on potential partners, donors, or key CSR and Foundation personnel, including gathering web and LinkedIn data
  • Support the CEO in internal communication, tracking tasks and coordinating between internal teams
  • The position is a full-time role requiring a commitment of 1.5 – 2 years, based anywhere in India with readiness to travel to locations as per need
  • The Associate will join the CEO and the 2-person Partnerships team to ensure seamless collaboration and partnership management

Mindset, skills and knowledge:

  • Be able to organise, prioritise, track, and manage workflow and resources in order to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to draft proposals, email and message communications with quick turnaround
  • Be detail and solutions-oriented while having an eye for details
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, including an understanding of the context, user experience, and objectives of the program/ curriculum
  • Be proficient in G Suite, MS Office and Slack

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate with 1-2 years of experience in relevant fields (program management, partnerships, communications)
  • Experience with any of the arts/art-based organizations would be an added advantage

Compensation: 3.6 – 6 L per annum, commensurate with skill and experience
