Simple Education Foundation (SEF) is a not-for-profit organization based in Delhi. It was started in 2014 by two Teach For India alumni, and was registered as a trust. Our vision is to provide an education to all our children that will prepare them to navigate through a dynamic and connected 21st century world. We want to do this in a way that is dramatically more effective than the way it is done currently. We, thus, identify it as our mission to build pathways that offer every child the opportunity to learn equally, regardless of their social and economic backgrounds.

Simple Education Foundation has been working inside Government schools for 8 years with the belief that high-quality learning is possible inside these schools. At this stage of our operations we have strong learnings and insights on the impact a trained educator and caring parent can have in a child’s life and learning.

Through this internship we aim to bring together a collective of story-tellers to become a voice of hope in the education sector and document stories of change and transformation inside Government schools. The internship offers an immersive learning experience to young believers of public education who hold the desire to drive change through story-telling.

Individual we are looking for should

• Should be pursuing or has an undergraduate degree in any stream
• Proficient in either Hindi/English
• Have 0-1 year of experience in writing
• Hold a passion for story-telling and strong belief in the public education system
• Have the ability to critically delve into the depth of programs and understand areas of impact
• Have the ability to initiate meaningful conversations with stakeholders and articulate responses

SEF works in Government education spaces. Our learnings are a sum of our conversations and interventions with our teachers, principals, children and their community. Hence all projects will be rooted in the context and ecosystems of rural and urban public education systems.

Stories can be told in more than one way. We want fellows to explore their skills and apply them to capture stories in a writing format they are comfortable with.

Content Writing

• Proficiency in Hindi/English
• Awareness of India’s education landscape
• Knowledge of formats in Content Writing (Blogs/Articles/PR Blurbs)
• Ability to hold meaningful conversations
• A critical and investigative mindset

Deliverables 

In the 6-week internship, the fellows will work on projects covering the above mentioned thematic areas.

By the end of the internship each intern will be expected to deliver:

• Projects in the form of one article/blog
• Publication: Interns should be able to co-identify platforms of publication with the SEF Team.
• Social media: Fellows will be expected to engage with SEF’s social media and share their work and experiences.
• Content Packaging: Each project will be delivered, complete with PR blurbs, project summary, SM captions etc.
• Please note the copyrights of all projects will lie both with the fellow and SEF.

Stipend & Benefits

• INR 5000 for 6 weeks
