Sampark Foundation: Anupama and Vineet Nayar, former Vice Chairman and CEO of HCL Technologies and author of Harvard Business Press bestseller “Employees First: Customer Second, set up Sampark Foundation in 2005 with an objective of ensuring education equality for millions of children in rural India. They have developed, after years of research, a tech-enabled pedagogy, which has empowered teachers and changed the teaching-learning experience in over 84,000 primary government schools across six states.

The unsolved Problem

In India, Government led Primary School Education System is suffering with a myriad of issues and the poor learning outcomes for our 144 million children who attend these 740K schools is alarmingly. Third party research and our own base line assessments show that most children even in grade 5 can’t add/subtract or construct simple sentence in their local language.

Despite doubling of investment in education by the government over the last decade, the learning outcomes continues to show an alarming negative trend thus an urgent need for a new innovative approach to transform outcomes at scale.

$1 Innovation

Sampark Foundation was founded by Anupama Nayar and Vineet Nayar (Former Vice Chairman and CEO of HCL Technologies and Author of Employees First Customer Second) with a belief that “frugal innovation” along with relentless execution in partnership with the government can drive large scale change in learning outcomes. This thought led our founders to give up whatever they were doing in 2013 and dedicate their lives to lead this change.

Design thinking with focus on innovation in class room transaction gave birth to Sampark Smart ShalaTM which is a learning outcome focused initiative that uses a sound box with a voice mascot called “Sampark Didi” along with music and songs to teach English using LSRW and whole language approach, Innovatively designed TLMs to teach Math from concrete to abstract , BOT enabled mobile App for teachers that works without internet and multimedia fun workbooks with QR codes for children at less than $1 per child per annum.

The 1 Crore impact

Our journey of learning by working with 1 Lac rural schools, 1 crore children in 8 states (Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Rajasthan) is just that – a learning journey – because problems at scale can only be solved with patience, perseverance and lots of passion. Today we train 500,000 teachers each year at block level and they are our true partners of change and responsible for the encouraging results we have seen through third party assessment.

Sampark Foundation is inviting application for DGM Finance & Accounts role. We are looking for experienced candidates with expertise in the related field. The profiles scope of work includes strategic responsibility, financial, compliance and operational based on business requirement.

Job Description: Sharing details of what is expected from the job role.

• Manging and analysing accounting data for financial statement.
• Plan, implement and oversee overall accounting strategy.
• Manage financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.
• Treasury operation through strategic bankers.
• Legal and Tax compliance including managing 7 big contracts with the government, fillings for IP, GST, Income Tax, FCRA etc.
• Monitoring of Cash Flow and Liquidity and Preparation of monthly/weekly MIS reports relating to
• Investments and Fund Flows.
• Liaising with cross-functional stakeholders with a strong business acumen.
• Establish business intelligent reports & dashboards on various financial and operations MIS.
• Impact Analysis and reporting.
• Co-ordinate with Internal Auditors and ensure Audit compliance.
• Managing Global Taxation, legal & contract.

Essential Skills for the position: The successful applicant will have the following qualities / experience-

• 10+ Years of Experience in Finance and Accounting function in corporate or social sector.
• Chartered/Cost Accountant/MBA (Finance).
• Experience in accounting roles with advanced knowledge and experience of all phases of accounting.
• Good understanding of reporting, forecasting and budgeting techniques.
• In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods

Remuneration: Above the industry band.

Work Location: Noida Sector 132.

Working days – 5 days a week with 2nd Saturday compulsory work and working hours 10 AM -7PM.
