Samaj Pragati Sahayog (SPS) is an organisation registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. SPS is headquartered in a drought-prone, tribal area in the Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh. Over the last two decades, Samaj Pragati Sahayog (SPS) has grown to be one of India’s largest grass-roots initiatives for water and livelihood security, working with its partners on a million acres of land across 72 (about 220 villages and towns) of India’s most backward districts, mainly in the central Indian Adivasi belt. The day-to-day responsibility rests with the 25-member Core Team of experienced professionals who work full-time at headquarters, leading the team of 225 SPS activists.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Preparing training material/manual on rights and governance.
- Designing activities for Community engagement.
- Conducting trainings for women to create awareness of their rights.
- Liaison with other organizations and plan exposure visits of community leaders.
- Conducting and facilitating sessions of Trainers.
- Designing activities for trainers to undertake while conducting sessions in the community.
- Develop a strategy to conduct the workshops, training programs and activities for the stakeholders of H & N program.
- Develop and implement the community mobilization and sensitisation strategy for effective program delivery.
- Coordinate the training programs for the professionals, local communities, government officials and different stakeholders of the health and nutrition program.
- Identify and develop a training requirement for the health workers and implement those training programs
- Identify, develop and organize a training capacity building training for other CSO partners.
- Provide technical support to other training programs in the location.
- Monitor and support the meetings of stakeholders in the health and nutrition program.
- Facilitate street plays, dramas, and other cultural programme for the awareness about H&M.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in social work/Rural development/Sociology/Economics/Psychology/Management.
- Minimum 2 year of experience in development sector. Experience in implementing developmental
- Willingness to travel & undertake field work.
- Knowledge and understanding on issues related to the project & community.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize & multi-task.
- Good written skills of Hindi & English (conversational) are a compulsion
- Function as a team player.
- Ability to meet the reporting deadlines
- Knowledge of MS-Office, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Willing to stay and work in the project area.
