PxD Our vision is to end information poverty by delivering personalized information to households via mobile phones. By providing actionable information and advice to the right people, in the right way and at the right time, we enable poor people in low- and middle-income countries to make better-informed decisions to enhance their livelihoods and well-being. PxD mainly provides customized digital advice to smallholder farmers, but we are expanding into new informational fields, including environmental sustainability education, financial services, and nutrition. We collaborate with partners to achieve scale, and continuously experiment, iterate, and gather evidence to improve our services and demonstrate value.

PxD is looking for a self-motivated and independent person to join our team as an Intern – Policy Research. The successful candidate will contribute to PxD’s ongoing efforts to scale evidence-based interventions with various central government ministries.

This is an exciting opportunity for creative, driven, data-oriented people to have a significant impact on the project, as part of a high performing and non-hierarchical team. The successful candidate will have the opportunities to work at the intersection of policy, implementation, and research.

Assignment responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Attending and summarizing meetings with bureaucrats.
  • Reviewing and summarizing government reports, briefs, and documents.
  • Conducting secondary research including, but not limited to, literature review.
  • Writing reports/blogs.
  • Supporting scoping and landscape analysis activities.

The ideal candidate for this internship placement has many or all of the following:

  • Bachelors or Graduate (ongoing) degree in public policy, development studies or related fields (e.g. economics, MPA, MPP etc.).
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Experience managing and cleaning large databases
  • Experience in working with the government
  • Ability to communicate effectively
