Pravah is a Jharkhand based non-profit organisation working towards establishing an equity based just society where each individual has a dignified and respectful life. Pravah is currently working in Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal to empower communities with ensured positive deviance through transparency, cooperative and participatory approach.

Inspired by Gandhian Philosophy of ‘Gram Swaraj’ by Mahatma Gandhi, Pravah was founded in 1992 working specially in the Santhal Pargana Region of Jharkhand for poor and vulnerable sections of the society specially the ultra-poor. Over the years, Pravah scaled up its development initiatives through its programmatic expertise and rapport with the local communities.

Today Pravah reaches out to more than 100,000 families through its interventions on sustainable livelihood, natural resource management, women empowerment, health and nutrition, education and promoting and strengthening local self-governance.

1. Program Manager

Location :- Deoghar

Job description

• Oversee all project activities and be the main contact point for the donor and the field staff
• Ensure project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor organization.
• Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes.
• Responsible for submitting activity reports, meeting minutes and financial reports on regular basis to the donor.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of annual activity-based project budgets as well as monthly and quarterly financial reports and sending of new funding requests.
• Lead and motivate the project team and monitor project activities and project expenditure and coordinate work with consultants and volunteers in the project
• Ensures close collaboration and coordination with cooperating partners to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results as specified in grant agreements.
• Employs resourcefulness in project design, implementation and monitoring. Trouble shoots project problems. Identifies and implements creative solutions.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s degree in a relevant field such as administration, project management may be preferred.
• Experience: Several years of experience in project management, with progressively increasing responsibilities. Experience managing complex programs involving multiple stakeholders and large budgets is often required. Having knowledge of FCRA project handling will be an extra
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hindi and English, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and convey complex information clearly and concisely.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
• Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.

2. Marketing and Value Chain Expert

Location :- Deoghar

Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing and Value Chain Expert to join our team and contribute to the growth and development of an already established Farmer Producer Organization (FPO). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing strategies, value chain management, and a proven track record of enhancing agricultural businesses.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to promote the products and services offered by the FPO.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the value chain of agricultural products from production to consumption, ensuring maximum value capture for FPO members.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to streamline operations and optimize efficiency within the value chain.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making.
• Provide training and support to FPO members on marketing techniques, value chain management, and best practices for sustainable agricultural production.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and value chain activities, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
• Foster relationships with stakeholders including farmers, buyers, government agencies, and NGOs to facilitate market linkages and value chain integration.
• Stay updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting the agricultural sector, and incorporate relevant insights into FPO strategies.

Experience Required:

• 4-5 years of experience in marketing, value chain management, or related fields within the agricultural sector.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing marketing strategies and value chain initiatives.
• Experience working with Farmer Producer Organizations or similar agricultural cooperatives is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends to drive decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and supporting smallholder farmers.

Educational Background:
Candidates with any educational background will be considered, provided they have relevant work experience and a demonstrated understanding of marketing and value chain concepts within the agricultural context. A degree in agricultural economics, agribusiness, marketing, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.

3. Agriculture & nature resource management

They may collaborate with universities, research institutions, and agricultural companies to advance agricultural knowledge and innovation.
• Education and Extension: Experts educate farmers, ranchers, and agricultural workers through workshops, training sessions, and extension programs. They disseminate research findings, best practices, and technological advancements to help farmers make informed decisions and adopt new techniques.
• Environmental Stewardship: Agriculture experts promote sustainable farming practices that conserve natural resources, protect biodiversity, and mitigate climate change. They advise on methods to reduce soil erosion, water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions while promoting biodiversity conservation and habitat restoration.
• Policy and Advocacy: Some agriculture experts engage in policy development and advocacy to support agricultural interests and address challenges facing the industry. They may work with government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and industry associations to shape agricultural policies, regulations, and programs.
• Economic Analysis: Experts analyze market trends, input costs, and financial performance to help farmers make sound business decisions and improve profitability. They may assess the economic viability of different crops, livestock enterprises, and agricultural technologies.
• Risk Management: Agriculture experts help farmers identify and manage risks related to weather, pests, diseases, market fluctuations, and other factors that could affect agricultural production and income. They may recommend risk mitigation strategies such as insurance, diversification, and hedging.

Requirements:

• Knowledge & experience in GIS based NRM planning.
• Experience in community mobilization & skills for building collaborative relationship with relevant department & other stakeholders.
• Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate the community as well as team members towards the goals of the project.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English and Hindi, to effectively convey project objectives, engage stakeholders, and disseminate information to diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify challenges, develop innovative solutions, and overcome barriers to project implementations.
• Willingness to travel frequently to designated area (having a two-wheeler is must).
• Ability to work in rural area.
