In the early years, Pratham’s area of work was Mumbai; and it catered exclusively to children in urban areas, but now it works on a large scale in rural areas across India. From being a service delivery organization, Pratham has now evolved to be an innovator of methods of large-scale delivery.

About Pratham Council for Vulnerable Children:

In April 2001, Pratham created “Pratham Council for Vulnerable Children” (PCVC) in Mumbai to reach out to the most vulnerable children, understand their lives and explore various avenues of educating them. This gave birth to a new motto: “Every Child’s Rights Protected, Every Child in School and Learning Well.” PCVC, the child rights wing of Pratham, targets vulnerable and out-of- school children including child labourers, street children, child beggars and rag pickers, and works to protect children’s right to a safe childhood, and mainstream vulnerable children back into formal education. One of PCVC’s key mandates is to support advocacy and raise awareness on issues related to child rights. Since 2010, PCVC’s activities have reached beyond the right to education, and worked to protect all fundamental rights of children, covering over 40,000 children across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana through its various interventions.

Job Description of Program Associate – Documentation

The candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and preparing impactful reports, as well as contributing to the documentation requirements of various programs and projects implemented by the PCVC teams across the states. . They shall also be provided the opportunity to work in the field with different State teams and be an integral part of different campaigns and surveys on the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for documentation requirements at both State and National level. This will include creation of concept notes, project progress reports, PowerPoint presentations and other documentation essential for project implementation. Pratham Mumbai Education Initiative
• Creating internal reports on program implementation for sharing with the senior level management.
• Making use of available secondary data sources and existing literature to prepare well informed reports and provide meaningful contextual background to them.
• Data analysis, interpretation and visualization for putting together Survey, Campaign and internal reports.
• Development of rich and insightful Case Stories from the ground.
• Co-ordinate with state teams for preparation of accurate and detailed reports.

Required Skills

• Ability to communicate in Hindi; fluency and excellent written & oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to build rapport with people from various different academic, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to work well in teams.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Project management, ability to work within tight timelines and to multitask.
• Eye for detail. Candidates with 1-2 years of experience in the social impact / non-profit space is preferred but applications from Freshers are welcome.

Location: Based in Mumbai, with travel to all PCVC state chapters.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
