WASSAN (Watershed Support Services and Activities Network), Hyderabad since 1999. WASSAN is a network-based organisation focusing on improving the quality of mainstream programs in natural resources management and livelihoods. It engages actively in policy advocacy initiatives at state and national level mainly related to rainfed agriculture. It also provides field level support services to a large number of watershed development and other programs implemented by the civil society in partnership with communities. 1.CoFTI Coordinator
Position Type: Full Time

COFTI (Coalition for Food System Transformation in India) aims at Collective actions of various actors working towards food systems transformation strengthened through knowledge sharing, co-creation and innovation. It would engage with Government, academicians, CSOs, international organisations, national and international networks, and the private sector to build a collective vision for Food System Transformation. It establishes initiatives to identify, train, and empower the next generation of change-makers in the field of food and nutrition. It will create platforms to facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing, and resource mobilisation to implement effective interventions across various sectors of the food system.
Contract Period: 1 year Contract with Possible Extension.
Reporting to: Director WASSAN
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the food systems transformation network by designing thematic groups, identifying stakeholders, conducting analytical research, and facilitating documentation and knowledge dissemination.
- Draft reports, research publications, case studies, outreach materials, presentations, and periodic reports for varied audiences, including policymakers, partners, and donors.
- Maintain ongoing communication with partners and stakeholders, staying updated on relevant developments.
- Collaborate with government and non-government stakeholders to build knowledge-sharing platforms.
- Prepare proposals, concept notes, and documentation for stakeholder meetings, events, and initiatives.
- Coordinate the creation of knowledge dissemination platforms, outreach strategies, and thematic impact assessments.
- Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities, including idea pitching, proposal writing, and developing multi-year projects.
- Develop strategies for evidence-based research and capacity building for stakeholders.
- Engage with donors for resource mobilization to enhance impact and outreach.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for stakeholder and donor management, including program and process documentation, with timely progress reporting.
- Contribute to network development by fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a culture of continuous learning.
Desired Qualifications / Expertise:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Diploma degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in data and knowledge management; experience with networks and government agencies/institutions is advantageous.
- Proficient in research and design using relevant tools and methods; knowledge of Database Management tools and GIS is a strong asset.
- Strong facilitation, communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder coordination.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on sustainable solutions.
- Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of additional regional languages is a plus.
- Highly motivated, a team player, and adaptable to flexible work locations and timings.
- Willingness to learn new concepts as required by the organisation.

- Oversee the creation and timely dissemination of publications, outreach materials, and other communications products through appropriate channels and events.
- Contribute to the conceptualization of web assets and/or microsites.
- Ensure high-quality communications through proofreading and editing of engagement-related content.
- Track, evaluate, and report on outreach metrics, adapting strategies to enhance engagement over time.
- Manage quality control and timely distribution of social media content, mailers, and newsletters.
- Develop and maintain social media strategies around events and initiatives.
- Support network development by fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a culture of continuous learning.
Desired Qualifications / Expertise:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Diploma degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in communication strategy and management; experience in journalism, mass media, and social media design/management is preferred.
- Prior experience with networks and government agencies/institutions is an advantage.
- Proven experience in communicating on social, environmental, food, or climate change issues for diverse audiences through various media forms (e.g., video blogs, infographics, newsletters, brochures, reports).
- Ability to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of communication products; background in influence strategies and audience targeting is preferred.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, Canva, Pardot, Salesforce, Cision, Asana, and similar tools is preferred.
- Fluent in English and Hindi; knowledge of additional regional languages is a plus.
