KHPT is a not-for-profit charitable entity that spearheads focused initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of communities in India. In 2003, KHPT was founded with a mission to enhance the health and wellbeing of vulnerable communities and our journey started with the focus on reducing the prevalence of HIV in Karnataka, specifically among most at-risk populations. These interventions were evidence-driven, systematically planned, rigorously implemented, and monitored. We succeeded in scaling impact well beyond Karnataka and KHPT became a learning site for innovative approaches. We work primarily in the fields of Maternal, Neonatal & Child health (MNCH), Tuberculosis (TB), Adolescent Health (AH), and Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC).

KHPT has been selected as a Non-Government Principal Recipient (NGPR) for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (The Global Fund), for the grant cycle 2024-2027, for the TB grant in India. The key project elements include community engagement, capacity building and technical assistance. The major interventions of the project encompass (i) TB Champion Engagement across 14 states and one UT (ii) TB Mukt Grama Panchayath activities in 13 states (iii) Nationwide Technical Assistance for Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) and Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA) – Sustaining the adoption initiative and strengthening service delivery linkages (iv) Strengthening counselling and patient support systems. KHPT will partner with suitable organisations as Sub Recipients (SRs) in implementing the project. The Major Stakeholders include The Global Fund, The Central TB Division (CTD), State National TB Elimination Program (State NTEP) and Local Funding Agent (LFA).

KHPT is seeking application for the following position/s.

1.District Lead -PRI and Community Engagement (PRI&CE)

Positions: 3

Location: Respective District Head Quarters as below

i) Karnataka    :  1 (Mysuru)

ii) Bihar           :  1 (Muzaffapur)

iii) Assam        :  1 (Chirang)

Project Period: 01-Apr-2024 to 31-Mar-2027

Qualification, Skills & Competencies

  • Master’s degree in social work, sociology, public health or in a relevant discipline with 7-8 years of experience or Graduates in a relevant discipline with substantial years of experience
  • Should be a competent candidate experienced working in the field of TB, and HIV Care and support with key/vulnerable populations.
  • Willing to travel extensively to all the villages, and spend quality time with the beneficiaries
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and local language and computer skills is desirable.
  • Self-motivated and able to motivate others
  • Commitment to public health values and TB control
  • Commitment to quality work by self, by team
  • Two-wheeler with driving licence is must for this position as the position demands 10-14 days travel in the villages, wherein public transport is nil/limited.

Roles and Responsibilities

The project’s implementation geography in a state involves two primary interventions, TB Mukt Gram Panchayat (TBMGP) and TB Champion (TBC) Engagement, organized as a cluster of districts. In this structure, one district will host both interventions, while the remaining districts will solely focus on TBC Engagement. This encompasses one district with TB Mukt Gram Panchayat Activities and TBC Engagement activities.

  • Function as point person for the project in the assigned district on behalf of KHPT/SR
  • Function as Head of Operations for all project activities in the location district, which includes implementation and direct supervision of block level staff
  • Overall responsibility to manage the TB Mukt GP activities in the location district.
  • Responsible for the TBC engagement project deliverables in the location district and the clustered districts.
  • Ensure the coordination with respective District TB Office and Zilla Panchayats and Taluk Panchayats with respect of the project activities.
  • Ensure the documentation and reporting at district level and ensure the same is updated to the State team on weekly/monthly basis.
  • Support the training activities planned for the TBCs, District Nodal Officers, CHOs and staff.
  • Provide Supportive Supervision to the field team.
  • Ensure the planned activities are implemented on time with expected results envisaged in the project.
  • Coordinate meetings at District/Taluks and sharing the implementation plan GP wise Micro plan preparation (Activity plan) and approval
  • Day today coordination with Community Coordinators for follow up of the activities conducted/planed.
  • Ensure regular (daily/weekly/monthly) monitoring of data entered by field staff
  • Attending/conduct coordination meetings with Line departments (District/Taluk) for the support required for the project implementation
  • Prepare District presentations on the performance and submission of reports to the line manager.
  • Ensure Consolidation of the Report at district level and uploading to the website/Support to any survey team deputed by KHPT.
  • Support the PBTBMBA activities as per the guidance from the state lead.
  • Any other activities related to the project assigned by the line manager (State Lead)

2.District Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Qualification, Skills & Competencies

  • Minimum graduate degree in Statistics, Population Studies, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, or equivalent disciplines and possess a minimum of 1 year of experience OR graduate/diploma in any subject with 8 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) within the context of public health or development interventions
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, with the ability to derive actionable insights from data through software applications.
  • Ready and willing to travel across the implementation districts of the state to ensure effective M&E processes and outcomes.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the collection of data in the districts to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and ethical standards as per the project work plan and performance framework.
  • Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators with the support of district leads and submit them to State Lead on a regular basis.
  • Train and build the capacity of the Community Coordinators in the MIS system to ensure effective data collection and analysis.
  • Conduct data analysis using statistical tools/MS Excel to generate actionable insights for the districts.
  • Analyse state level data to identify significant trends requiring corrective action, assess possible causes, and identify solutions.
  • Routinely perform quality control checks of monitoring and evaluation work in the state, ensuring that planned M&E activities are carried out and validating, on a random basis, the information provided PMU team.
  • Track planned evaluations and ensure that evaluation reports are obtained and shared to facilitate learning.

3 .Community Coordinator (PRI and TBC engagement)

Qualification, Skills & Competencies

  • A person with graduation in any discipline or higher secondary with minimum 3 years work experience in health-related field activities.
  • Working experience in THE GLOBAL FUND Projects
  • Knowledge of grassroots TB initiatives is desirable.
  • Ability to coordinate with Health and RDPR departments in the block.
  • Excellent understanding of local context, practices, and ability to liaise with block/GP and health facilities.
  • Willingness, flexibility and ability to work in a challenging environment.
  • Well versed in electronic gadgets like mobile phone and tabs for documentation.
  • Two-wheeler with driving licence is must for this position as the position demands 14-20 days travel in the villages, wherein public transport is nil/limited.

Roles and Responsibilities

The project’s implementation geography in a state involves two primary interventions, TB Mukt Gram Panchayat (TBMGP) and TB Champion (TBC) Engagement, organized as a cluster of districts. This encompasses one district with TB Mukt Gram Panchayat Activities and TBC Engagement activities. The Community Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the activities in the Taluka level. Engaging with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), the initiative empowers and supports them in addressing challenges related to tuberculosis. It fosters a healthy competition among Panchayats to eliminate TB, empowering them at various levels to prioritize tuberculosis and acknowledging their contributions through the certification of achieving a “TB free” status. And the TBC engagement will be done in the Taluka. Identifying and training of TB champions at least one per the Health and Wellness Centre to utilize the family caregiver model. These champions, associated with Health and Wellness Centers, will deliver personalized care and actively contribute to district and state TB forums.

  • Work with the Taluka TB Unit from the NTEP and Block Development Officer (BDO) from the RDPR
  • Ensure the planned training for the PRI members are properly rolled out and facilitated.
  • Ensure communications to the Gram Panchayats are sent by the BDO on TB Mukt activities and training
  • Facilitate the process of claiming TB Mukt Grama Panchayats
  • Support the TUs for identifying and training the TBCs to deploy in HWCs
  • Follow up support to the trained TBCs for family care training for the care givers.
