ETASHA Society Established as a not-for-profit organisation in January 2006, ETASHA (Enabling and Training Adolescents for Successful and Healthy Adulthood) provides market-oriented employability and vocational skills to disadvantaged Indian youth (aged 15-30 years). Our career guidance workshops and short-term training programmes equip them for entry-level jobs in the organised sector, in industries such as retail, accounting, hospitality and business process outsourcing. Believing that ‘teaching how to fish is better than giving fish to eat’​, ETASHA trains underprivileged youth in market-oriented employability skills and helps place them at the start of a career and a meaningful job. Strengthened by our positive living skills and social confidence, these youngsters enter a world of possibilities…of meaningful work… and life… Other programmes include Career Guidance for school going adolescents; Training of ITI trainers and trainees; Women’s Entrepreneurship Programme to enable women from low-resource settings to be financially independent.

1. Youth Employment Facilitator

Vocational Training & Placement

Location: Delhi-NCR

ETASHA Society, a not-for-profit organization conducting Vocational Training and Placement programs for empowering youth for successful employment and income generation, seeks Youth Employment Facilitators for multiple projects located in different parts of the National Capital Region

 The core role, as part of the Vocational Training & Placement team, is preparing young girls and boys from the less privileged segments of society for employment in the organized sector. The responsibilities include:

  1. Facilitating learning of key Employability Skills and ensuring successful placement of trainees after training. Training modules include spoken English, inter and intrapersonal skills, Computers and Internet usage (training in methodology will be given)
  2. Understanding the targeted communities and trainees’ backgrounds through regular interaction with community members and trainees’ family members
  3. Preparing trainees for interviews and identifying suitable job opportunities for the trainees
  4. Interacting with recruiters to get feedback and understand their requirements, as well as to keep abreast of the changes in the job market
  5. Mentoring trainees through their learning process for entry, growth and success in the organized sector
  6. Reporting on the progress of classes and of the trainees
  7. Creating interesting and relevant lesson plans according to the prescribed framework

You are the person we are looking for if you have:

  • Empathy and a desire to help and work with young people from resource-poor communities
  • Passion for training and facilitation
  • Ability to work with participatory methodologies
  • Excellent English language communication skills – written and spoken
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office

2. Project Coordinator : Project Udyogini

Location: Rajasthan

Project Udyogini is being launched to empower women from distressed backgrounds in rural Rajasthan to start their small businesses, run them successfully and improve their income levels. This project location includes specific villages in 6 districts of Rajasthan viz. Alwar, Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jhunjhunu and Sikar.

The project is aligned to ETASHA Society’s focus on skilling underprivileged communities for sustained employment and income generation. Founded in 2006 as a not-for-pro and We work with youth, women and adolescents in low-income communities, and their ecosystem, to empower them with the skills, confidence and mind-set required for modern-day work or entrepreneurship.

We require 2 Project Coordinators urgently, each of whom will be responsible for distinct areas to mobilise and select women willing and capable of becoming entrepreneurs, and mentor, handhold and provide support to the new entrepreneurs till their enterprises stabilise. The core responsibilities are to:

  1. Connect with the community to understand the community, build relationships with relevant stakeholders, create awareness about Project Udyogini, motivate and enrol candidates.
  2. Document all processes and carry out the Due Diligence process for business plans proposed by the beneficiaries
  3. Facilitate the loan disbursal process and assist the Business Setup Process for new entrepreneurs.
  4. Create backward and forward linkages as required for the enterprises.
  5. Monitor the progress of the enterprise, gather and maintain data such as financial records, visit reports, etc. and provide / organise support as needed
  6. Linking the new entrepreneurs with appropriate mentors/subject matter experts wherever and whenever it is required by the enterprise.
  7. Support in any other project activities as and when required.

Required Qualification and experience

  1. The ideal candidate will have at least one of the following:
  2. A degree in Business Management (MBA) or related area, or,
  3. Experience of running / managing a business, or
  4. Experience of working in a livelihood project with clear deliverables
  5. Good understanding of accounts
  6. Supervising and managing a team
  7. Good communication and convincing skills
  8. Be proactive and have a problem-solving aptitude and attitude.
  9. Willingness to travel on a frequent basis in rural areas
  10. Ownership of a 2-wheeler for the purposes of travel to the field.
  11. Residing in or willing to relocate to one of the cities mentioned above.

 The base locations are Suratgarh & Sikar. Remuneration will range between Rs.20,000/- to Rs.27,000/- per month, depending upon skills and experience. In addition, Medical & Accident Insurance will be available and travel for work will be reimbursed as per rules.

3. Project Manager – Project Udyogini

  3. Training of Entrepreneurs – conducting entrepreneurship training and coordinating skill training as required.
  4. Establishing Culture, Systems, and Procedures consistent with the ethos of ETASHA to foster an environment of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the project team.
  5. Team Development and Motivation to inspire, motivate, provide guidance, support, and opportunities for professional growth to team members.
  6. Stakeholder Relationship Management covering Project Sponsor, partners, and local authorities, acting as the primary point of contact and addressing their concerns and ensuring alignment with project objectives.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in project management and training preferably in community development or related fields and have the following skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, and training skills
  • Stakeholder management and networking skills.
  • Proficiency in establishing systems and procedures while adapting to local contexts.
  • Willingness to travel on a frequent basis in rural areas
  • Ownership of a 2-wheeler for the purposes of travel to the field.

The base location could be either Suratgarh or Sikar. Remuneration will range between Rs.45,000/- to Rs.50,000/- per month, depending upon skills and experience. In addition, Medical & Accident Insurance will be available and travel for work will be reimbursed as per rules.

4. Career Guidance & Counselling : Project Spreading Wings

Location: Haryana

Project Spreading Wings

Project ‘Spreading Wings’, supported by the BT Group has been launched in Gurgaon, Haryana with the purpose of ‘Enabling adolescent girls to become economically, socially and emotionally self-reliant’. A significant part of the project involves providing Career guidance to High School students in Haryana.

The core responsibility of the Career Guide will be to provide Career Guidance through the Digitized Career Highway Portal to high school students in multiple cities & towns in Haryana The role involves:

Conducting Career Guidance Workshops –

  • Manage the operations of the digitized career guidance app, including user registration and profile setup
  • Conduct the Workshop through a handheld devices / computers
  • Provide personalized guidance to students as they navigate the career guidance process. Assist them in understanding their interests, aptitudes and career goals.
  • Resolve minor technical issues on the digital devices to ensure a seamless user experience.

Responsibility for Safety and Maintenance of Digital Devices including

  • Regularly updating software, maintaining security protocols, and troubleshooting hardware issues as needed.
  • Collaborating with the IT team to address any technical concerns promptly to minimize downtime of the devices.

Coordinating with schools for the following

  • Scheduling Career Guidance Workshops as required
  • Ensuring room allocation and availability of school resources required for conducting the sessions
  • Scheduling orientation programs and supportive sessions for teachers and parents

Recording attendance and progress of students, maintaining data and reporting on the outcome of workshops to schools/ NGOs and funders

Documenting case studies for Funder Reports, Website and Media

Required Skill-set

  • Ability to conduct workshops / classes with adolescents
  • Proficiency in working with Computers and Mobiles including resolving simple hardware and software issues.
  • Ability to read and  comprehend content about large number of diverse careers
  • Excellent communication skills in both Hindi and English
  • Willingness to travel

The requirement for 2 Career Guides is urgent.

The positions are located in Palwal and Gurugram with extensive travel within Haryana.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Vocational Training and Placement Program Manager responsible for getting youth trained and placed in the organized sectors. With 360 degree responsibility from mobilization to placement and alumni relations, this is a fitting role for a strong, motivated and socially committed leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mobilization and Registration: Develop and implement strategies to effectively mobilize and enroll youth for training in various market-oriented programs and job placement on completion.
  2. Placement Coordination: Connect with program-relevant employers, and coordinate the entire placement process.
  3. VTP Program Management: Oversee the conduct of the training programs as per norms and quality standards.

ETASHA Society is hiring for a Business Development and Marketing Officer for a development sector project focused on the Apparel Manufacturing sector in Gurugram, Haryana.

As a Business Development & Marketing Officer you will be required to help aspiring women entrepreneurs understand their markets and develop their response for running profitable enterprises by providing support in

v Identification of business opportunities and clarifying their business proposition.

v Helping them in understanding the market by coordinating market visits, participation in sales events, etc.

v Identifying and establishing backward and forward linkages for the women’s enterprises and enabling them to become independently capable of doing the same.

To be selected you will need to have

  • At least 2 years’ experience of sales & marketing
  • Experience of working in livelihood generation and/or women’s issues in the development sector
