Observer Research Foundation Set up in 1990, ORF seeks to lead and aid policy thinking towards building a strong and prosperous India in a fair and equitable world. It helps discover and inform India’s choices, and carries Indian voices and ideas to forums shaping global debates. ORF provides non-partisan, independent analyses and inputs on matters of security, strategy, economy, development, energy, resources and global governance to diverse decision-makers (governments, business communities, academia, civil society). Position Summary
The Executive Assistant (EA) to the President is a crucial member of our staff at ORF. The EA works closely with ORF’s President and Chief of Staff, and other senior leadership as well. In the discharge of their duties, the EA is exposed to the vast range of ORF’s research and programmatic activities, including flagship conferences and events like the Raisina Dialogue, CyFy and Colaba Conversation.

Through managing the President’s engagement with ORF’s internal programmes and external actors, the EA acquires a 360-degree management and communications experience. The candidate will also develop the ability to manage and execute multiple projects while ensuring that deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will possess an aptitude towards research, an entrepreneurial attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow on the job.

  • Administrative requirements that emerge from the President’s office include attending meetings and discussions, taking notes, and ensuring follow-through on assigned tasks.
  • Maintaining the President’s calendar, programme, and travel, among other tasks.
  • Provide necessary research support and collection of background information on issues and projects.
  • Coordination with ORF’s various research programmes and staff members as a representative of the President’s Office.
  • Help manage the President’s engagement with external partners.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or above (mandatory) in any one area of ORF’s work.
  • Up to 1-2 years’ work experience. Freshers are welcome to apply.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English.
  • Proficiency in commonly used office software like Microsoft Word, Google Calendar, Excel, PPT and WordPress.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms like Twitter
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail
