Job Purpose
Responsible for the execution of the corporate affairs activities (government affairs, external/ internal communications, issues & crisis communications and media relations) for Sandoz India (includes STO, GCC and SDC); contribute to building the Sandoz brand and protecting and enhancing the Sandoz reputation in India.

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Act as a strategic partner to the business and create and support implementation of communications strategies. Build relationships with and counsel senior Business Partners and /or senior Communications colleagues.
  • Manage agencies and other external vendors to secure maximum return on investment, operational excellence and business impact. Be an active and connected member of the global Corporate Affairs community to ensure consistent, local alignment.
  • Develop, drive & coordinate Government Affairs strategies at center and state level. Monitor policy and political environment for salient and emerging issues. Regularly advise the leadership team of critical developments that can impact business.
  • Identify and actively engage with relevant associations/chambers/institutions to improve visibility and share of voice of Sandoz in India.
  • Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies in support of strategies and objectives at global and local levels; protect and enhance our corporate reputation and drive associate engagement.
  • Support Country Leadership Team in internal communications efforts to ensure associates understand, are aligned and engaged with the company’s ambition, purpose and strategy.
  • Establish and leverage media networks to improve and protect corporate reputation. Build and maintain media networks at local and national level. Monitor and pro-actively handle developments that could improve or threaten Sandoz reputation in the media.
  • Drive media coverage around key landmarks, leveraging multiple channels such as general media, medical and industry press. Handle crisis communications and issues management.

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum Graduate in Communications, Journalism or related fields with at least 10 years of experience in a corporate communications role. Experience in life sciences/healthcare is an advantage
  • Experience in operations management & execution, content development, social media and project management
  • Skilled at analysing and synthesizing business information, agency management, creative writing for various channels, developing concise and clear messaging that drive engagement, channel innovation
  • Consistent track record and passion for communicating clear, concise and impactful messages
  • Consistent record of delivering under pressure
  • Experience with working in a matrixed, culturally diverse/international environment
  • Organizationally savvy and able to manage and achieve results through effective collaborations. Ability to work across time zones, boundaries and culture contexts
  • Positive attitude and willingness to find proactive, compliant solutions to challenges
