National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), New Delhi, has been set up under the National Health Mission (NHM) as an autonomous registered society, to channelize technical assistance and capacity building support to the states for strengthening the public health system. The NHSRC is also mandated to contribute to health policy/programme design and evaluation.
Since its inception in 2006, NHSRC has been a repository of knowledge and a Center of Excellence for its agenda. This organization has professional linkages with a plethora of domestic and international bodies involved in the field of Public Health. There have been a number of personnel who have served with NHSRC and gained invaluable experience enabling them to graduate to the next rung of professional ladder. The Consultant position offers you an opportunity to participate in the process of strengthening health systems, improving health care service delivery and enabling positive health outcomes, through hands-on implementation assistance at National, State and District levels. 1. Senior Consultant – Child Nutrition (Micronutrients) (MOHFW)
Terms of Reference
National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), New Delhi on behalf of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the above mentioned post purely on contractual basis.
Reporting to: Additional Commissioner, Child Health, MoHFW
Roles and Responsibilities: To assist Child Health Division in monitoring implementation of Child Health
programme interventions under the National Health Mission (NHM) with respect to following thematic areas:
1. Provide technical assistance and programmatic support to the thematic areas for strengthening and implementation of micronutrient supplementation programmes under Child Health Division, i.e. IFA supplementation and Vitamin A supplementation.
2. Assist in appraisal of State PIPs, compilation of quarterly/monthly reports shared by the States and preparation of national reports.
3. Assessment of progress against approved plans through use of data available and reports (desk reviews).
4. Conduct periodic field visits to States to monitor the progress and support to ensure that the approved plans as per APIP have been implemented for micronutrient supplementation programmes in the refined time period.
5. Assist CH Division in analysis of various reports/studies/MIS Data/ Survey Reports and based on the output/analysis suggest actions to achieve CH indicators in the States.
6. Work with partners, and State government counterparts to develop, implement, monitor and report on program activities including work plans, budgets, activities, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks and reports for capacity building for micronutrient supplementation programmes.
7. Assist in development of documents, operational and technical guidelines on micronutrient supplementation under CH programme.
8. Assist in developing technical reports and reviewing of existing guidelines and training manuals and dissemination of the same at the State/ district levels.
9. Any other work assigned by the Supervisor within the CH framework Outputs.
10. Submission of monthly reports on work done on all time bound actions.
Eligibility:
1. MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BAMS/BPT with MD/MPH/MHA/Post Graduate Diploma in Health Management/ MBA in Health Management.
2. Minimum of 5+ years experience in the field of public health of which 2-3 years’ experience in Micronutrient Supplementation Programme with government at national or state level. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked with NHM/RCH at National/State Level.
3. Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/strategies particularly National l Health Mission.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills, analytical and interpersonal abilities, excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
5. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
6. Demonstrated experience in implementing RCH trainings program at field level
7. Computer proficiency with high level of familiarity with commonly used packages like MS Word, Excel, Power Point & Web surfing to search relevant data & documents.
8. Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
9. Willingness to travel to states & districts to provide technical assistance & ability to work on different assignments simultaneously to meet the timelines for assignments.
10. Formal educational qualification and experience could be relaxed when there is published work of high quality or whenever there is work experience of specific relevance.
Age: Up to 55 years as on last date for receiving application and having sound health to undertakeextensive field visits.
Remuneration Range: Between Rs 90,000/- to 150000/-
Location: New Delhi with willingness to travel to states and districts.

Contract Tenure: Up to Three months, further extendable subject to performance of candidate and requirement of division
Remuneration Range: Between Rs. 60,000/- to Rs. 1,20,000/-
*Fee offered within the band will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
