Your team responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of ESG & Climate business finance, this individual will be part of the finance team supporting the fastest growing business unit at MSCI. The individual will be part of the Mumbai Finance team which is involved in supporting global processes and senior members of the global management team. Stakeholder management and Relationship management is key aspect of this role given the broad exposure and interaction both, within finance as well as other functional departments of the company.

Your key responsibilities
- Develop and generate financial reports, both routine and ad-hoc specifically for the ESG & Climate business unit.
- Summarize conclusions from financial analysis on a proactive basis and provide key takeaways to business unit head, corporate finance, and senior management.
- Provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting and analysis of the ESG & Climate division’s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted, and strategic planning results to facilitate decision making.
- Experience in handling professional services/non-compensation, headcount, and compensation reporting, budgeting, and planning, actual vs plan variance analysis.
- Working on various management presentations like Board Plan, Quarterly Business Review and Monthly Business Review.
- Prepare business plans, including annual operating plans, periodic forecasts, strategic plans, and product introduction financial plans.
- Exposure to capital/budget allocation and processes to help manage the investment framework for the business unit.
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts including, including capitalization of software assets.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
- Strong finance experience in a professional business environment is ideal.
- Accounting/FP&A experience gained in both the public or private sectors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated proficiency in providing accurate and detailed financial analysis in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Some technology background will be an added advantage (Power BI).
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated internal customer service skill.
- Proactive individual who should take initiative with an analytical bent of mind.
- Minimum six years experience in similar roles.
- CA or MBA Finance.
