Job Description

The Team Leader / Technical Lead will be responsible for: 

  • ensuring technical excellence, a strategic and prioritised approach, and quality of the deliverables
  • identifying and engaging with relevant stakeholders in the animal health landscape in India to identify
  • priorities, regulatory parameters, funding sources, pain points and future opportunities in this sector
  • maintaining a positive and constructive relationship with govt of India stakeholders and the client
  • working with other subject matter experts and coordinating technical inputs from the project team to undertake the consultations and data analysis
  • producing (and requesting inputs to) multiple drafts of the Roadmap document and revising the document in response to stakeholder feedback
  • leading technical presentations and discussions at workshops and dissemination events
    working closely with MM and IDS stakeholders to develop new business in Animal Health.

Candidate Specification

You will offer a post-graduate education or equivalent experience with 12+ years relevant professional experience.

We are looking for a strong combination of the following:

  • Demonstrable experience in strategic leadership of animal health work in India / internationally
  • Excellent technical report writing skills- with a specific focus on attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentational and facilitation skills
  • Ability to prioritise, delegate and able to work under pressure
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and potential clients, with a particular emphasis focus on sharing best practice.
  • Ability to travel within India
  • Knowledge of the key Indian government architecture in Animal Health / Livestock sector

Some knowledge of decarbonization of livestock sector

Job Profile

Mott MacDonald’s International Development Services (IDS) Unit delivers programmes for clients ranging from FCDO, USAID, UNICEF, Gavi and many more. The IDS Unit includes our International Health Portfolio which delivers services in One Health, health systems strengthening, public health, epidemiology, AMR, health policy, MNCH, universal access to health care, health financing, private public partnerships, digital health and climate resilience.

The Roadmap will enable realisation of the India@2047 plan while also mainstreaming net-zero pathways to decarbonise the livestock sector. It will act as a tool for better convergence and effective implementation of all different initiatives aimed at strengthening the overall ‘Livestock Service Landscape’. It will also provide an overarching framework for seamless stakeholder coordination and ensure time-based action on priorities and activities for strengthening livestock service delivery mechanisms, thus allowing coordinated efforts to be taken against set indicators to measure progress towards success.

The Technical Lead Animal Health will be responsible for technical leadership and delivery of the project “Animal Health Roadmap, India” to a high quality, ensuring Government of India’s and the client’s needs are met. They will be accountable for production of the final Roadmap and ensuring this product reflects industry best practice.
