Miracle Foundation India works with a vision of a family for every child in our lifetime. The organisation has emerged as an industry leader in family strengthening (FS) and family-based alternative care (F-BAC), helping to reintegrate children with families, and working at the local level to prevent child separation from family.

In order to achieve this, Miracle Foundation India focuses on the following three program objectives:

Prevention & Gatekeeping –children stay in families through effective gatekeeping by the social workforce. Transition – transition children from institutions to families /F-BAC options though support to Government Youth Enablement – enable youth and care leavers to live a meaningful and productive life

The inherent approach of Miracle India’s work has been about capacity building, strengthening the existing systems to support the Government and civil society organisations in strengthening FS and F-BAC in keeping with the vision of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act 2015.

Miracle Foundation India is a Section 25 NGO which is responsible for executing all programs in India and is associated with Miracle Foundation global organization which is registered in the US as a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

Profile Overview

It is important for the prospective candidates for this position to know that the advocacy / partnership & collaboration efforts of Miracle Foundation India strive to contribute towards the following goals:

  • Influence systemic change in the sphere of FS & F-BAC through strengthening four pillars of building political will, know-how, capacity building and funding.
  • Advocate for acceptance and due notification of Miracle Foundation’s tools within the ambit of integrated case management by respective State Governments and ultimately the Ministry of WCD at the level of the Central Government.
  • Anchored in ten times thinking, advocate and influence the Government to adopt Miracle Foundation’s technology driven solutions – Thrive Scale™ app for the special workforce.
  • Partnership & collaboration with distinguished children & youth advocacy platforms at state, national, global level aimed at youth enablement and strengthening child & youth participation systems, galvanizing change towards children’s rights and family-based alternative care.
  • Reinforce the partnership engagement model, influence partner CCIs to demonstrate taking ownership in planning, implementation, monitoring of family strengthening and family-based alternative care initiatives, processes towards sustainable reintegration of children with families.
  • Advocate for robust gatekeeping at the level of Child Welfare Committees (CWC).Diversify the base of Miracle ‘India’s allies and build a network.

Key Purpose of the Role

The position will be instrumental in fortifying the position of Miracle Foundation India as one of the front runners, an industry expert in the sphere of family strengthening, family-based alternative care in India.

This position is responsible to steer the development and execution of national & regional advocacy strategies for the organization in the South Asia region. Initially the position will focus in India and will have opportunities to evolve as per the context.

The position will coordinate internally between teams to ensure accountability, strategic alignment, and results.

Responsible to build relationships to expand and deepen strategic partnerships and engagements in coalitions and optimize organizational positioning as a vibrant and innovative organization committed to child protection, development & children thriving in families.

The position will oversee and lead the effective execution and monitoring of Miracle Child Safeguarding Policy.

Desired Qualification, Skills and Experience

  • Hold postgraduate degree from a recognized university in the fields of political science, international law, international development, communications, or an equivalent area of study.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in developing and delivering advocacy strategies in development and / or in the context of child rights/child protection.
  • Demonstrated experience in using key influencing strategies such as advocacy, lobbying, movement building, or policy development.
  • Experience in carrying out power, policy and political analysis to inform strategies and projects.
  • High level knowledge of child and gender justice.
  • Good understanding of the development and NGO sector.
  • Experience of working with coalitions and networks
