1. Livelihood Officer – Job Placements

Department: Full time

Location: Delhi

No. of Positions: 7

The role will be responsible to provide placement to 750 plus youth and adults. Build a strong relationship with employers ensuring effective placement and monitoring systems are in place for youth and out of work adults.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Desired Competencies

  • Strong partnership building credentials with ability to tailor style and methods when working with employers (and employee volunteers), and other specialist organisations like Job Aggregators.
  • Excellent team worker with strong oral and written communication skills including good level of professional English.
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to use own initiative to solve ground level problems.
  • Well organised working style with excellent time management skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends occasionally as required by programme.
  • Ability to collect and process delivery evidence and data in line with key performance indicators for the programme

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving the desired target number of youth & out of work adults’ placements in jobs
  • Create partnerships with employers and job aggregators who can offer youth potential job placements, work experience and workplace visit opportunities.
  • Monitor youth’s attendance and performance with employers for effective retention & performance
  • Support youth after their placements to ensure that they retain their engagement and sustain themselves in work or training for up to 6 months
  • Undertake data collection and reporting duties that demonstrate the effectiveness of the programme.
  • Act as a role model at all times demonstrating behaviour that displays the characteristics youth should develop to be successful in their chosen field.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification & Work experience

  • Relevant degree or similar professional qualification from a reputed institution (Minimum qualification is graduation).
  • Knowledge of local employers and job aggregators.
  • Knowledge of youth needs with regard to progressions at work.
  • Experience of partnership working including referrals and monitoring partner delivery.
  • Experience of either employability skills, job placement, youth development or vocational training programmes either directly or indirectly (desirable)

2. Head Impact

Department: Full time/Impact

Location: Mumbai

No. of Positions: 1

The role would be based in Magic Bus Head office located in Mumbai and would be required to travel in line with the requirements of the project(s) , various external stakeholders like government agencies, funders etc. as well as for representing Magic Bus on outside fora if required from time to time.

Desired Competencies

  • A background in Social Sciences with at least 12 to 14 years’ experience in MEL, with a strong and demonstrated interest in evaluations
  • Commitment to rigour and accuracy
  • Proven ability in conducting and facilitating quantitative and qualitative work
  • Proven ability to mentor and facilitate learning among team members
  • Proven ability in handling challenging partnerships
  • Proven ability to manage complex internal and external relationships

Key responsibilities

  • Lead on design, execution and leveraging of evaluations of key Magic Bus programmes
  • Develop innovative and rigorous MEL frameworks to capture accurately the change that Magic Bus enables
  • Supporting the Fundraising and Communications team in the use of credible data (both primary and secondary)
  • Manage projects and partnerships both internal and external
  • Develop and facilitate the development of concept notes/ papers for internal and external audiences

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification & Work experience

  • Post-graduation in any social science from reputed institution / university
  • 12-14 years’ experience in MEL, with a strong and demonstrated interest in evaluations, with minimum 05 years in planning, managing MEL
  • Demonstrated experience in performance measurement, indicator selection and monitoring, and data collection/analysis
  • Database management experience

 Team coordination

  • Programme Operations team – An ongoing collaboration within the team and create a conducive environment for sharing of information constructive criticism and suggestion alongside the regular progress of programmes.
  • Sustainability /Fundraising team – Extend support to the Fundraising teams in creating descriptive as well as narrative reports among other things.
  • Communications Team – To develop effective channel for internal as well as external communications, milestones achieved, success stories etc.
  • Other support functions – to ensure adequate manpower, fund allocation & accuracy, technology enablement are in place.

3. Manager / Senior Manager – Corporate partnerships

Department: Corporate relations / Full time

Location: Mumbai

No. of Positions: 1

The role will be responsible to tie up and manage the relationship of corporate employers and nurture and grow the accounts ensuring they become sustainable source of funds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Directly play the role of account manager of multiple large projects and create and nurture a lasting relationship
  • Play vital role in fund allocation and take major financial as well as programmatic decisions and reporting with respect to the grant
  • Oversee the progress of implementation of the program as per the MoU agreed upon with the respective donors
  • Self-sustaining practices for Retention of existing donors and growing grant/donation sizes
  • Tying up with more employers under the project
  • Responsible for good CRM .
  • Managing relationships with corporate employers
  • Oversee the progress of implementation of the program as per the MoU agreed upon with the respective donors
  • Play the role of an effective spokesperson between the Magic Bus and respective donor organizations
  • Custodian of data and analytics with reference to the progress and monitoring of program
  • Organizing kick off meeting with project stakeholders both internal and external
  • Ensure seamless communications and management of Corporate employers
  • Ensure effective Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is in place
  • Effective management of program budgets and transparent reporting back to the donor
  • To coordinate donor engagement activities
  • To organize project reviews at regular intervals and monitor progress
  • Timely submission of donor reports (financial and programmatic)

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification & Work experience

  • Any Graduate in Social work or other social sciences relevant to the development sector
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience in rising CSR fund for Non-profits.
  • Awareness reflects engagement with diverse sectoral issues, especially on education, adolescent empowerment and rural development

Team coordination

  • Director, Impact and the Impact team – To find ways to represent and communicate results/ outcomes
  • Sustainability /Fundraising team – To ensure prompt and appropriate acknowledgement of all grant income and that all information relating to it is accurate, up to date and well organized and also provide other feasible support as required to the whole fundraising team in line with experience.
  • Communications Team – To develop effective channel for internal as well as external communications, milestones achieved, success stories etc.
  • Other support functions – to ensure adequate manpower, fund allocation & accuracy, technology enablement are in place.

Mobility requirements:
The role would be based in Magic Bus Head office located in Vikhroli, Mumbai and would be required to travel in line with the requirements of the grants, stakeholders, project management team etc. from time to time.
As the head office is shut owing to the COVID 19 outbreak, the person would be required to work from residence until it resumes functioning.

4. Youth Mentor

Location: Mumbai

No. of Positions: 10

To plan the programs, based on field needs and curriculum inputs and ensure implementation and dissemination. Provide constant feedback/learning’s on the basis of implemented curriculum to help refine the curriculum.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To plan the programs, based on field needs and curriculum inputs and ensure implementation and dissemination. Provide constant feedback/learning’s on the basis of implemented curriculum to help refine the curriculum.
  • To weekly plan and conduct programs / sessions on the field.
  • To ensure that all the documents related to Program planning and implementation are submitted on time and are readily accessible.
  • To ensure implementation of safety norms and other rules & regulation in all programs / sessions.
  • To make constant and timely use of the monitored information in the program.
  • To build rapport on the field and coordinate with the Community Coordinators / NGOs & Institution staff.
  • To ensure effective management of 15 Pair of volunteers/CYLs on the field in consultation with the monitoring officers and communication of emerging issues with the monitoring officers.
  • Mentor will also help CYLs in conducting and organizing parents meeting, Sports Event, Awareness Rallies, and will organize regular reinforcement training for CYLs.
  • To support the monitoring officers in developing yearly budgets and be directly responsible for its implementation on an on-going basis.
  • To maintain the attendance records with respect to staff and monitor the attendance records of the children on a monthly basis.
  • To conduct events as and when required within their respective projects.
  • To conduct appraisals for their teams with the support of monitoring officers.
  • To ensure that the team is motivated and play an active role in facilitating an environment in the organization that is conducive to development, performance and fun.
  • To be responsible for one’s and the team’s development with respect to knowledge, skills and behavior, in order to enrich and enhance both person and organization.
  • Mentors would conduct advocacy on development issues in community to involve kids and their families in the process.
  • Mentors would submit the monthly report to Monitoring Officer/Program Manager and provide necessary monitoring data to the monitoring officer.

5. Academic Educator

Department: Child Program (Full time)

Location: Mankhurd, Mumbai

No. of Positions: 5 / Field Staff

Job Brief:

Running a formal community learning centre to improve foundational literacy and numeracy along with learning outcomes for Math, Science, and English for students of Grades 6 to 10

Working with parents of first generation learners to improve the foundational literacy and numeracy of parents

Working with students and families to make the centre popular and maintain high attendance of students at the centre

Promoting a spirit of self-development among children

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effective delivery of Holistic Development Module with adolescents studying in standard 6th- 10th in the community learning centre.
  • Effective delivery of foundational literacy and numeracy courses for Grades 6 and 7 leading to improvement of foundational literacy and numeracy
  • Effective delivery of eContent for Grades 6 to 10 to improve learning outcomes in Math, Science, and English
  • Effective use of instructional strategies for using classroom activities, explanations, practice, tests, etc. to improve learning outcomes of students
  • Effective use of formative and summative assessment to understand learning level for foundational literacy and numeracy and academic subjects, and using the assessment to plan learning strategies to improve learning outcome
  • To engage children studying in standard 6th to 10th with various creative teaching learning strategies and peer learning strategies at school and community level.
  • To prepare yearly, monthly and weekly plans to ensure timely completion of desired learning objectives outlined in project.
  • To prepare everyday lesson plans to carry out various activities effectively simultaneously.
  • To organize learning activities like story building, discussing newspaper articles, reading books, book reviewing in peers, etc. to enhance their reading and communication skills.
  • To prepare activity planner and worksheets to enable children to carry out Science and Mathematics related activities like science experiments, discussions, Mathematics puzzles, games, etc. effectively.
  • To engage children in games, art and craft activities like scrabble, best out of waste, puzzles, drawing, etc. to promote joyful learning.
  • To arrange learning activities involving digital learning platforms, basic fundamentals of computers and coding with help of self-learning materials.
  • To create a congenial learning environment which encourages collaborative joyful learning among children to increase their interest in learning.
  • To organize activities like competitions, street plays, celebrating various days, as well as involving parents and locale from community to engage with children in their area of expertise.
  • To engage with parents quarterly and update them on the progress of their child’s progress.
  • To supervise and provide support to the Community Co-ordinators in delivery of Community Connect Tool Kit aimed at developing a supportive eco system (Parents, SMC Members, Community at large) for the adolescent in the community
  • To participate in the capacity building programs as per the project design

  • Manage and maintain the electronic devices (tablet, TV, laptop, speaker, android box, etc.) and accessories for effective usage throughout programme period
  • To keep oneself updated on all the developments in safety rules, regulation child rights and protection and ensuring its integration in programs
  • To ensure effective communication and reporting upward and down the line of all matters related to the efficiency and effectiveness of the program
  • To do capacity building of community coordinators from time to time

REQUIREMENTS

Desired Competencies:

  • Facilitation of foundational literacy and numeracy programmes
  • Facilitation of learning outcomes improvement programmes for Grades 6 to 10
  • Facilitation of academic learning using electronic devices like tablet and TV along with relevant e-Content
  • Digital literacy and computing skills.
  • Basic communication skills (written and oral) in regional language and English
  • Good facilitation and classroom management skills
  • Working in a rural setting
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team; and with all levels of staff, volunteers, and school authorities
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Outgoing and convincing
  • Ability to learn about, commit to, and educate others on program mission and goals

Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduation in any stream and certification in Education or equivalent (B.Ed./ BSW is preferable).
  • Experience in teaching Math, Science, and English to Grade 6 to 10 students
  • Track record in assuring improved learning outcomes
  • Experience of working with rural children and with students who need academic support will be preferred
  • Experience of assessment of learning will be preferred

6. Livelihood Officer – Profiling & Support

Department: Regional Livelihood

Location: Pune and Mumbai (Both Mumbai City and MMR) Maharashtra

No. of Positions: 5

The Role

Work in close coordination with the Community engagement Officer and the Placement Officer w.r.t. registration and on-boarding of youth & out of work adults Manage the day to day update in the technology platform for youth & out of work adults entries (around 1500 entries throughout the project period) Be the front facing individual at the Office for addressing queries of the youth & out of work adults whose profile is being maintained by them

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Registering of youth and out of work adults in the tech platform
  • Counseling of youth and out of work adults
  • Support Placement Officer in following up with placed candidates
  • Entering and maintaining day to day updates in the technology platform
  • Support the Programme Manager in handling day to day logistics related work
  • Support the Programme Manager in maintenance of records and documents pertaining to all administrative work
  • Notifying to the Programme Manager all the gaps and issues with respect to the technology platform

7. Impact Assessment Executives

Location: Mumbai

No. of Positions: 1

The Role

Work closely with the impact team and livelihood team in maintaining quality of livelihood MIS. Will have to make daily telephonic validation calls to youths placed through Magic Bus’s Livelihood programme.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Training/orientation of programme team on MIS
  • Daily Telephonic calls to placed youths for MIS validation
  • Excel Data entry of findings from validation calls
  • Quantitative Weekly analysis of validation calls and sharing of report
  • Maintaining data quality of MIS
  • Monthly visits to livelihood centers for data Validation and report writing
