Language and Learning Foundation (www.languageandlearningfoundation.org) is a New Delhi-based non-profit organization with the vision of enhancing equitable student learning, especially language and literacy development, through the professional development of teachers and teacher educators, building/sharing knowledge, and implementing projects in collaboration with state governments. Position Summary

Coordinate academic activities for LLF’s FLN programs in Tripura and another state. Provide technical inputs, review state language curriculum and materials, and prepare comprehensive reports. Develop learning outcome frameworks, instruction materials, and training modules for grades 1-3. Plan and execute continuous professional development for SRG, DIETs, and teachers. Design assessment and monitoring tools, contribute to creating educational videos, and facilitate sessions in professional development workshops. Conduct school visits for observations and piloting, travel for program review and workshops, and represent LLF in academic forums. Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate academic activities related to LLF’s FLN programs of Tripura and one more state.
  • Provide technical inputs on the various documents and participates in all kinds of discussions related to foundational literacy.
  • Review state language curriculum, textbooks and other materials and prepare comprehensive reports to share with partners and government academic bodies.
  • Develop Learning outcome framework, instruction design, training framework modules and instruction materials for grade 1-3, in consultation with the Central academic team and Tripura state team.
  • Develop and execute plan for continuous professional development of State Resource Group (SRG), DIETs, academic support persons and teachers on Foundational Literacy
  • Development of workshop designs, facilitation modules, workshop materials, etc. for professional development of teachers on program design and activities
  • Designing of assessment tools, classroom observation tools and other required monitoring formats in consultation with central team and SCERT
  • Contribute to creating videos that can be used for courses and in training.
  • Participate and facilitate sessions on foundation literacy in professional development workshops organized by LLF, partners and government academic bodies.
  • Visit schools for classroom observations, assessment and piloting purposes and prepare reports.
  • Extensive travelling to field locations for program review, academic workshops and professional development activities
  • Represent LLF in different forums for academic work on foundational literacy.
  • Any other work assigned by the supervisor will also be part of the JD.

Educational Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • Graduation or equivalent degree required
  • 5+ years’ experience including 3 years’ experience of working in Foundational Literacy projects that involve training, material development and capacity building .
  • Conceptual knowledge, Lesson and curriculum planning skills in Literacy , Developing workbooks, writing modules and guides for teachers
  • Good Training knowledge and Facilitation Skill
  • More specialized computer skills including competency in the use of the internet and the use of Microsoft office (word, excel and Powerpoint),
  • Has a good team spirit and positive attitude. Enjoys a varied pace of working and copes well under pressure.
  • High proficiency in Reading, Writing and Speaking of Bengali
  • Typing knowledge of Bengali is highly desired
