Kotak Education Foundation’s (KEF) mission is to support children and youth from underprivileged families through different education based interventions to rise above the poverty line and lead a life of dignity through sustainable processes. KEF works with some of India and most economically underprivileged communities, attempting to alleviate poverty through education and livelihood programs.

SCHOOL EDUCATION

State Education transformation in progress in 2 States (Maharashtra and Gujarat, piloting projects in other states) impacting learning outcomes of 1 million students for progressive improvement in grade appropriateness

SCHOLARSHIPS

15,000 Scholarships awarded for higher education with 2,500 graduating and gainfully employed, yielding a 2.5X ROI in a year

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

60,000 youth (dropouts/graduates) and 30,000 school students trained on futuristic employable skills yielding an 8X ROI in a year

Role & responsibilities:

Overall Role:

The Project Head, Kotak Kshamata will design the strategy for all KEF education based projects. S/He will ensure alignment of approaches across project activities and coordinate with the other project heads, senior leadership and project partners, in order to enhance the teaching learning process & outcomes of the teachers and students of partner schools. S/He will be accountable for building a sustainable Project and learning ecosystem in the schools to make them future ready. S/He will be responsible for launching innovative solutions to enable and strengthen technology integration in urban vernacular medium schools amongst school leaders, teachers and students.

Key Responsibilities Areas:

  • Execute and improve the Project to achieve the designed outcomes
  • Execute the project as designed and keep innovating for excellence
  • Ensure the School Leaders/Teachers/students/schools receive the designed input in terms of hardware/software and learning related training
  • Be responsible for designed Learning outcomes for school leaders, teachers, students and school
  • Improve the Project effectiveness and efficiency on ongoing basis
  • Understanding the requirement of school ecosystem and the multiple stakeholders (Head teachers, teachers, students, parents)
  • Improve student learning outcomes through Kotak Kshamata initiatives
  • Design and implement Kotak Kshamata based workshops and training for KEF and beyond
  • Work with respective interventions and identify best practices for digitizing the ideal “learning journey
  • Suggest solutions for increasing access to education for our partner schools through digital solutions and approaches
  • Planning, Monitoring and communication of the Project execution
  • Develop Annual Learning and growth Plans for leaders, Teachers, students and schools
  • Work Closely with MIS and M & E Team for regular data point updates and keep refreshing plans as per requirement
  • Submit monthly/quarterly reports/ presentations of progress and gap analysis in input, output, processes and financial Budget
  • Regularly communicate about project progress to stakeholders within and outside the organization
  • Ensure program quality through assessment, design, development
  • Data Capturing and standard Operating Processes
  • Develop SOP for the Project

Work closely with School Coordination Team and ensure smooth on boarding of new partner schools’ year on year to get the program started effectively in schools and continuous smooth functioning

External Collaborations

Identify and Collaborate with external agencies (ed-tech partner/education institutes/ NGOS/Foundations/ Corporates) to strengthen the project impact and reach

Financial management 

  • Preparing and managing budget for the intervention
  • Responsible for implementing activities in accordance with project or activity budgets
  • Responsible for fund utilization judiciously and follow compliance as defined by the organization

Team Development and Supervision

  • Lead and guide the team in accomplishing set goals in time
  • Guide and mentor team and bring in inclusive practices
  • Provide mentorship for the team and provide guidance in career progress and self-development

Candidate specifications:

  • Educational qualification
  • Master’s in Education/Development/MBA with specialization in CSR, sustainable development/ Education Technology
  • 20+ experience in Educational initiatives / Training

Years of experience
10+ years in Designing, executing, leading school education based projects out of which 5 years must be in Training in education organization, Leadership training, Teacher Training, School LMS, Digital Learning solution providing

Worked on  CSR projects in education

Age 45+

Work skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to build effective relationships with different stakeholders
  • Excellent command over quantitative and qualitative data analysis, report writing, presentation

Job Specifications:

  • 8 hours 6 days a week (alternate Saturdays are weekly offs)

Working conditions
The job can involve working conditions that include 8 hour shifts between 8 am to 7 pm. There are two week offs in a month apart from casual and privilege leaves. This job will also involve working in challenging community areas with infrastructural and other disadvantages.
