In line with the requirements of Karuna-Shechen India, we are inviting applications from qualified and interested individuals to join us in the position of Human Resource Assistant.

Key Details:

1. Position: Human Resource Assistant (2)
2. Location: Bodhgaya, Bihar  and Jamshedpur, Jharkhand
3.  Joining Date: Applications are considered on a rolling basis and will close as soon as the candidate is selected. We would request individuals to apply as soon as possible and not to wait for the application closing date.
4. Work Week: 6 days (Monday to Saturday)
5. Contract Duration: Full time
6. Reports to: HR Head
7. Supervisory role: Not applicable
8. Salary range: INR 4- 6 lakhs per annum

Job Overview: As a HR Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Programme manager in man power planning, shortlisting for selection, induction process, maintain database of employee life cycle, ideate and execute employee engagement practices, (70%),  assist Finance manager with documentation and employee benefit management practices (20%), engage in understanding employee progress in their roles.(10%).

Core Responsibilities : (70%)

Assisting in managing employee life cycle

  • Assist with the hiring process and provide suggestions towards enhancing the process in a result oriented manner.
  • Orient new employees about the organization and its programs, key values and culture.
  • Maintain digitised data of every employee in a regularised manner.
  • Actively engage in identification of training and capacity building needs of staff, including soft skills and technical skills.
  • Support programme manager(s) in smooth integration of the new employees in the organisation and assist them in formulating their progress indicators and mapping the same half yearly and annually.
  • Proactively contribute towards maintaining an altruistic ambience in accordance with the organisation’s core value of altruism in action.
  • Follow transparency and accountability in all practices.

Link Responsibilities(20%):

  • Supporting Finance department in documentation of employee benefits practices and other statutory compliances related to people management :
  • Inform all employees regarding the benefits provided by the organisation.
  • Coordinate with Finance in sharing information regarding tax calculation for full time and contractual employees.

Systemic responsibilities (10%)

Actively engage in employee engagement initiatives towards strengthening organisational culture, promote team building and resilience.

Policy: advise leadership on the potential impact a policy or set of policies could have on human resource and organizational effectiveness.
Streamlining workspace and procedures: improve communication within the organization, ensuring all employees understand their roles, and responsibilities and how they contribute to overall success.

Eligibility criteria for application:

  • Postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management.
  • At least 2 -5 years of relevant work experience. Experience of working with social impact organisations in the relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office is essential. Practice of HR software and other tools will be preferred.
  • Strong communication skills. Both written and verbal.
  • Great interpersonal skills, ability to build connect with people across programmes and functions.
