Job Description

Our programs seek to address key drivers of economic inequality experienced by vulnerable populations around the globe through four key focus areas: Community Development, Jobs and Skills, Financial Capability, and Small Business.  The Corporate Responsibility (CR) Division is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s CR agenda by crafting goals, policies and initiatives that align with and support the firm’s business strategies, reflect our values and support the communities where we do business.

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) is seeking to fill the role of Grants & Business Manager for the Grants Management Department. This role’s main responsibility will focus on grant management (process and portfolio support), regulatory requirements and reporting for grantmaking activities in India, South Africa and other key global markets.

This role will provide support to the Grants Management team and various grantmaking teams globally. S/he will work on a dynamic team and report to VP of Grants Management, International Regions.

This position will be based in Mumbai, India.

Responsibilities include:

Facilitate the day-to-day management of operations of grantmaking activity and various portfolios in Corporate Responsibility and JPMC

Three core responsibilities:

1. Oversight, Management of PaymentsSubmit grant payments in the system (start to finish) – including vendor setup, tracking payments, connecting with nonprofits, managing internal process and team members, etc.
Track all payment documents and reporting toward regulatory requirements for nonprofit giving (e.g., BEEE in South Africa and CSR India)

2. Account Management

  • Manage unspent accounts
  • Tracking across various accounts and JPMC legal entities
  • Documentation and process overview on accounts
  • Work directly with controllers and leads on audit requests and questions

3. Grants Management

  • Serve as the central liaison to coordinate grant reviews, grant pipeline tracking, and other cross-functional needs.
  • Draft grant agreements, manage grant records in system, support on reporting/data needs of each grant
  • Document retention and management, manage process workflows and updating
  • Ongoing training and development for various team members and business colleagues on these topics.
  • Coordinate quarterly financial reporting with grantees, fund allocation, utilization etc. in line with agreed budgets.
  • Review progress reports for existing grants and synthesize and document results, including preparing briefings and portfolio review decks for leadership.
  • In partnership with the CR leadership team, work with various team leads on key initiatives , including serving as an advisor for budgeting and process improvements.
  • Support the Business Planning process, working closely with leadership and critical partners across CR to ensure cohesive strategic planning across markets and pillars.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills; sound judgment and strong collaborative decision-making skills
  • Detailed orientated and able to learn quickly the process, complexity, and grantmaking practices
  • Comfort with financial processes including payment management, reconciliation, audit, management and oversight of various financial accounts and records.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to forge relationships, indirectly lead and gain consensus on process improvements
  • Experience working within a global team and matrixed operations and a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of CSR Regulations in India or BBBEE Scorecard is preferred
  • Experience working in philanthropy, foundations, and/or nonprofit management a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative, to prioritize and accurately complete multiple tasks, and to work under deadlines and changing priorities
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Tableau, and other CRM tools a plus
  • Minimum 4-6 years relevant experience required
