The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) is a premier, national level Institute for Postgraduate, Doctoral-level and Mid-career/in-service education, research, and consulting in rural management. Founded in 1979, IRMA’s mission is to promote all-around sustainable Rural Development through professional management.

IRMA requires a Research Fellow to facilitate and assist the project investigators of the project titled “An Evaluation of Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan and Gram Sachivalayams in Andhra Pradesh,” awarded by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR).

Role Description:
The candidate shall be considered for the position of Research Fellow to perform all kinds of research-related activities under the project. The activities shall comprise of, but shall not be limited to:

  • Conducting detailed literature survey, literature compilation and review, secondary survey, and survey data compilation;
  • Utilize advanced statistical, mathematical and qualitative tools and techniques to analyse data and generate insights;
  • Report writing and preparing drafts of research articles and case studies for potential publication;
  • Preparing project and research Executive summaries, presentations, and subsequent research proposals to create potential repeat research opportunities;
  • Periodic summarisation, progress tracking, and reporting of the research project;
  • Preparing research learnings and reflection notes for knowledge dissemination.

Requisite Qualifications:

  • Masters in Economics, Management, or allied fields (minimum qualification).
  • Relevant research experience and PhD in the relevant field would be an add-on.
  • Experience in writing research reports and journal articles. Sample writings and Statement of Purpose to be shared along with application.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and at least one statistical package out of R, Stata, Python, or equivalent softwares.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;.;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • Flexibility to travel Pan-India as and when required.

Selection Criteria:
The shortlisted candidates would be invited for personal interviews, where the interaction would focus on assessing the candidates on following metrics:

  • Learning attitude, research aptitude and reasoning ability.
  • Ability to understand and handle quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Ability to interpret the results and recommend actionable insights in a scenario.
  • Leadership skills required to lead a research project independently.
  • Willingness to assure time commitment to the project for the agreed period.

Age:
The Applicants age should preferably be under 40 years of age.

Nature of Appointment:
The position would be initially for four months, and it may be extended based on performance and requirement of project.

Remuneration:
The remuneration will be in the range of Rs. 40,000/- to 65,000/- per month, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and fit with the position.
