1. Outreach Senior Manager

Role of Outreach Senior Manager

The Senior Manager, Outreach will be designing and leading the outreach processes for all our short-term and long-term programs. Given that our programs are non-partisan and invite a politically and demographically diverse audience, openness to interact and build relationships across political ideologies is a must. They will also be managing the partnerships with politicians and grassroots organisations.

As an organisation, ISD wants to build a strong team while ensuring the team’s personal growth. At this point, we need someone who is ready to commit 3-4 years in this role, to build the institution.  In your role as Senior Manager, of Outreach,  you will work on the following:

Outreach

  1. Curate a diverse applicant pool for all the programs
  2. Manage Outreach for all the long-term and short-term programs
  3. Co-create outreach and marketing strategies for the programs
  4. Build and manage relationships with political leaders, grassroots organisations and media
  5. Conduct Outreach events – virtually and in person
  6. Manage team members and interns during application windows of programs
  7. Coordinate with program, selection, communication teams and tech vendors
  8. Identify high-potential applicants for the programs

Partnerships

  1. Research on potential partnerships with political parties and grassroots organisations
  2. Build partnerships with leaders across party lines and grassroots organisations
  3. Create engagement processes for nurturing relationships
  4. Conduct events and mini-programs in collaboration with partners
  5. Attend political events and programs

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Masters’ degree
  2. At least 6-8  years of full-time professional experience, specific outreach/partnerships experience will help
  3. Experience in relationship management and political networking
  4. Ability to engage and build personal relationships with people from diverse and opposing political ideologies
  5. Political knowledge and interest in democratic processes strongly preferred
  6. Experience of holding group spaces
  7. Great communication skills in English and Hindi
  8. Conscientiousness, discipline, rigour and ability to take/give feedback
  9. Entrepreneurial, resourceful, frugality, and sense of possibility
  10. Ability and willingness to work with people from across the political spectrum

2.Program Manager

Role of Program Manager: 

As an organisation our theory of change is to nurture young political leadership through our flagship programs – Democracy Express, She Represents and The Good Politician. We also hope to start some more online and weekend programs. Each program is carefully designed and curated to meet the needs of our target audiences. For ISD these programs and the quality of learning we provide are extremely important for us and they build the identity we carry. Our programs are non-partisan and invite a politically and demographically diverse audience. Beyond in-house sessions and content, we also invite expert practitioners, politicians and academics to provide depth and rigour in all our programs. At this point, we need someone who is ready to commit 3-4 years in this role, to build the institution.

In your role as Program Manager, you will:

Program Design, Research & Facilitation

  1. Secondary research to build a need based customised curriculum
  2. Program design and implementation
  3. Technical and process based session design and planning
  4. Small group and large group facilitation (online and offline)
  5. Create learning for different kinds of political audiences, both in english and hindi
  6. Build partnerships and manage external faculty, other organisations etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Masters’ degree in political science, policy or a relevant field
  2. 4-6 years of full-time professional experience
  3. Prior experience in program design, curriculum and session planning
  4. Political knowledge and interest in Indian Politics strongly preferred
  5. Understanding of adult learning
  6. Extensive experience in small group and large group facilitation
  7. Strong communication skills in English & Hindi, one more Indian language will be an added benefit
  8. Attention to detail, process orientation and working in uncertainty

3 .COO

The COO will work with the co-founders in managing the organisational learning and also lead some verticals.

Prior experience in organisational development, managing teams and partnerships is crucial for this role.

4. Program and Selection Associate

Role of Program and Selection Associate: 

As an organisation, our theory of change is to nurture young political leadership.  Our chosen platform of nurturing is through our flagship programs – Democracy Express, She Represents and The Good Politician. We also hope to start some more online and weekend programs. Each of these programs are thoughtfully designed and the curriculum and faculty is carefully curated to meet the needs of our target audiences. 5. Organisation Associate

In your role as Organisation Associate, you will work on

  • Secondary research to support program, communications and research
  • Application form and data management during selection cycles of different programs
  • Assist in drafting and editing communication materials such as newsletters and social media posts.
  • Coordinate with multiple verticals for smooth functioning
  • Small group facilitation during programs
  • Regular coordination with ISD stakeholders over call
  • Provide logistical support for events, workshops, and meetings organised at ISD.

6. Admin and Finance Associate

Role of Admin and Finance Associate: 

As an organisation, our theory of change is to nurture young political leadership through our programs – Democracy Express, She Represents and The Good Politician and our deeper constituency-level work called  ‘ Sarvodaya Champions’.

As an Admin & Finance Associate, you will be responsible for the admin and financial operations of the organisation. We are a Section 8 company with multiple accounting and financial compliance requirements, you will be responsible for managing and executing these processes. For the administrative role, you will be managing the processes for program residentials, coordinating with vendors, alumni, participants etc.

As an organisation, ISD wants to build a strong team while ensuring the team’s personal growth. At this point, we need someone ready to commit 3-4 years in this role, to build the institution.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Executing the admin responsibilities
  • Managing logistics for the program residentials and team programs
  • Coordinating with external vendors
  • Developing and maintaining administrative processes
  • Managing accounts and bookkeeping for the organisation
  • Preparing annual statements and monitoring financial information
  • Budgeting the finances for the residential programs
  • Managing salaries, leaves, reimbursements and other finances

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce/accounting/management
  • 2 years of full-time professional experience; (this is a non-negotiable)
  • Prior experience with managing accounts, finances and logistics
  • Understanding of accounting rules, and bookkeeping processes preferably for an NGO
  • Practical experience with accounting software, spreadsheets (such as MS Excel), and databases
  • Good mathematical and data analysis skills
  • Experience in vendor management
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Attention to detail, process-oriented and can manage to work in uncertainty

7. Fundraising Senior Associate

Role of Fundraising Sr Associate: 

As a start up we are responsible for raising the resources and expenses for the organisation as well as our programs. One of our core principles is to remain non-partisan and inclusive. For this, it is important that we don’t build an institution funded by a few people with a certain political leaning or interest. We want ISD to be co-owned by everyone and we invite both small and big contributions from everyone.

Within fundraising, we are working to invest in high net worth (HNI) individuals, foundations as well as using a crowdfunding platform to raise our money. As a fundraising associate you would be working closely with the co-founders of ISD and supporting this work. At this point, we need someone who is ready to commit 3-4 years in this role, to build the institution.

In your role as Fundraising Senior Associate, you will work on:

Fundraising Research & Grant Writing

  • Create and manage crowdfunding campaigns
  • Doing secondary research to find potential donors
  • Building a retail pipeline of funders
  • Writing grant and funding proposals
  • Setting up a tech system for regular follow ups
  • Calling retail donors at set intervals for feedback and renewal of commitment

Relationship Building 

  • Sending written communication and follow ups with current donors
  • Planning and coordinating meetings and events
  • Relationship building and investing regarding the organisation
  • Managing the online crowdfunding platform

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, policy or a relevant field

9. Communications Senior Associate

Role of Communication Senior Associate:  Our main stakeholders are young people who will eventually redefine public leadership. The long term and short-term programs, finds and nurtures these seeds of public leadership. Online and offline communications and outreach are a crucial part of this journey. ISD relies heavily on social media, online and offline communication and marketing. Our communication is written, visual and in the forms of documented learning. We need someone who can handle all the dynamic aspects of the online world. As an organisation, ISD wants to build a strong team while ensuring team’s personal growth. At this point, we need someone who is ready to commit 3-4 years in this role, to build the institution.  Your responsibilities will be:

Communication:

  • Manage multiple social media platforms ( Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn etc)
  • Design posts, responses, strategic advertising boosts etc for online channels and programs
  • Write articles, newsletters and collaterals for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage design needs, and maintain website
  • Design material for both online and offline events done by ISD
  • Capture photos and videos during ISD residential programs – manage production, post-production, editing etc.
  • Create campaigns about politics, youth and women in politics throughout the year to curate information for advocacy and brand-building

Branding Building and Public Relations 

  • Build partnerships relevant stakeholders, alumni and organizations
    Reach out to media houses to build presence for India in English and local media outlets (print and digital) through press notes, articles, podcasts, speaking engagements etc.

Campaigns and Outreach

  • Create and manage crowdfunding campaigns to build retail fundraising vertical of ISD
    Create campaigns about politics, youth and women in politics throughout the year to curate information for advocacy and brand building
    Oversee the outreach team’s work to ensure we can get maximum applicants for programs from across the country, fulfilling the diversity and inclusion commitments of ISD

Qualifications and Skills we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in some communication related field
  • 3-4  years of full-time professional experience; preferably in design and online+offline  communication / management (we won’t be able to consider people without full time experience)
  • Proficiency in Photoshop/ Illustrator/Corel Draw, Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint and Mail Merge
  • Video Editing
  • Digital Marketing experience is a must
  • Social media experience on multiple platforms
  • Experience in  developing visual and written content, handling marketing and outreach through online and offline medium
  • Public Relations experience- existing relationship with media outlets
  • Great communication skills in English and Hindi ( Written and oral)
  • Attention to detail and process orientation
