The Centre for Management in Agriculture (CMA) at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) invites applications for a Research Assistant/Associate position.

The position involves providing research assistance to the faculty, writing proposals, data collection, data analysis, working on publications, etc. For more information, please visit the IIMA-CMA page.

The selected candidate would be required to work on project/s related to the areas of rural and agricultural systems. It may require travelling to various parts of India for field work and data collection. The candidate should be able to conduct primary surveys, manage and analyse data and bring out a high quality report writing.

Qualifications:

• Candidate must have a Master’s Degree in Development Studies/Management Sciences/Social Sciences such as Economics/Agricultural Economics/Development Economics/Statistics, or any other related field with relevant experience.
• Fresh candidates with outstanding academic achievements are also encouraged to apply.
• Good analytical skills and basic computing are mandatory. Knowledge of econometrics or advanced statistical analysis will be an advantage.
• Economic and/or data modeling skills would be an advantage.
• Candidate should have the ability to get connected well with rural India.
• Candidate should have very good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Experience of working with research based think tanks or academic institutions will be desirable.
• Candidate should have the knowledge of understanding the scientific processes, including being comfortable doing a literature review by reading and summarizing research papers.
• Experience in content writing and social media management would be an advantage.
• Project Tenure: The appointment is purely temporary up to one year and can be extended depending on the performance or requirements of CMA.

Location: The selected candidate will be working from IIM Ahmedabad campus. IIMA provides access to the library and computer center for all the Research Assistants/Associates.

If selected, the candidate is expected to manage their own accommodation outside the IIMA campus which is centrally located within the city of Ahmedabad.

Reporting: The selected candidate will be reporting to the Chairperson, CMA and the CMA faculty members.

Compensation: The selected candidate will be offered a monthly consolidated salary based on qualifications and prior experience. No other allowances except TA/DA for official travel will be paid.
