Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad Founded on December 11, 1961, IIMA quickly assumed leadership in management education in India and has maintained it ever since. Ever since ranking of business schools started in India in the 1990s, IIMA has been occupying the top slots year after year irrespective of who does the ranking and what parameters they use. In the Asia-Pacific region, IIMA has been repeatedly ranked among the top five business schools. In global rankings, it has consistently found itself among the top hundred business schools. In 2008, IIMA became the first business school in India to receive the international accreditation, EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) by European Foundation for Management Development. In 2010, the Financial Times of London ranked IIMA’s two-year PGP (Post-Graduate Programme) eighth globally among Masters in Management Programmes that do not insist on work experience for admission. The same agency ranked IIMA’s Post-Graduate Programme for Executives (PGPX-for students with work experience) 11th globally among MBA programmes in 2011.

Executive – Alumni Special Interest Groups & New Initiatives Applications are solicited for the position of Associate to work in the Alumni and External Relations (AER) Office on Alumni Special Interest Groups (ASIG), New Initiatives, and other AER activities.

Description of the Position: The Associate’s responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Take ownership of Alumni Special Interest Groups (ASIGs) and all related activities.
  • Assist in the conceptualization, development, and implementation of new initiatives.
  • Wherever needed/assigned take ownership of new initiatives and other AER activities.
  • Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders including faculty, alumni, staff, students, and external entities.
  • Plan and execute online and offline conferences, workshops, events etc.
  • Manage communications.
  • Maintain database of relevant details of activities and mailing lists of stakeholders.
  • Work with the Web Executive to keep the ASIG Portal updated & active and assist him in implementing solutions and developments.
  • Travel in support of or to conduct alumni and external relations activities, wherever required.
  • Any other responsibility assigned for successful accomplishment of AER goals and activities.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is a minimum requirement. Candidates with a Master’s degree are encouraged to apply.

 The ideal candidate will:

  • Have minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Be proficient in use of MS Office, internet/web applications, zoom, and social media.
  • Interact with faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders with ease.
  • Be able to coordinate with staff from other departments with ease.
  • Be a self-starter and take initiative, follow-up and drive activity.
  • Think outside the box to come up with innovative solutions to challenges.

Age: Maximum 30 years as on the last date of application. Institute provides age relaxation as per GOI rules. Additional 5 years’ age relaxation is given to women candidates. Salary & Allowances: Selected candidate will be offered the appointment on Tenure Based Scaled Contract for fixed-term of three years, which may be extended for further period as required.
