Background- Shwetdhara program
Dairy farming is an important source of income for around 70 million households in rural India. Poorer households including small and marginal farmers prefer dairy farming to other farm-based activities due to its superior cash flows. In order to look at this issue from a holistic perspective, Shwetdhara Program- A flagship CSR program of IDFC FIRST Bank was launched in the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka and expansion of this program is planned in other states too. The program is aimed to cover 600+ villages and 20,000+ households of mentioned states, where all the services like Artificial Insemination, treatment, Feed and fodder services, Medicines supply are overseen by a team of doctors, agriculturists, Livestock Assistants, and Gram Sakhis.
