Job Description
Leading and growing fund raising with corporates and taking the existing fundraising model toscale
Focusing on strategic planning to establish processes that deepen existing donor relationships, develop new ones and generate growth infundraising
Representing Habitat India externally and enhancing its reputation in the market, as a centre of excellence for donors and NGO sectorpartnership.
Job Responsibilities
Strategy:
- Revisiting and strengthening the current fund-raising approach for various services offered by HabitatIndia
- Developing and supporting innovative partnerships under various corporate CSRinitiatives;
Donor Relations and Management
- Marketing Habitat India interventions to corporates and achieving the fund-raising targets;
- Researching and identifying potential donors, cultivating potential donors
- Developing new and existing corporate relationships in the area of CSR giving. Manage existing donors- corporates, SME, HNIs
- Provide support for maintenance of database of all donors, including, potential corporate donors as a central data base to be made available to the National Office
- Develop presentations to pitch for business and project funding. Prepare and submit proposals to prospective donors in consultation with the proposal development team
- End-to-end donor management that includes prospecting, proposal submission, coordination with RD support team, MoU closure, tracking fund receivables for approved proposals, track project implementation, responsible for all documentation with the donor, support due diligence process by the donor, project reporting and handover
- Coordination with all internal stakeholders including Programs, Finance, Communications, Legal and HR for any donor/project related activities and documentation
- Field visits to monitor project progress and for facilitating donor visits
- Support the MIS team with all donor and project related information
Business andTargets (only for Associate Director and above)
- Setting fund raising priorities, goals and budget and quarterly action plans if in case provided with a team, in addition to achievement of personal targets of fund raising
- Providing leadership and support to the team for implementing their fundraising plans, achieving individual targets and developing their relationships with companies/ other donors;
- Building the capacity of the internal fundraising team if any provided to the position holder
- Day-to-day administration of the fundraising team, including tracking and updating targets vs. achievements, keeping records up-to-date, etc. if provided with a team to the position holder
- Comply with all internal reporting requirements including daily/ weekly reports, achievement & pipeline reports, event reports, field visit reports etc
- Comply with brand and communications guidelines and all organizational policies and processes as defined from time to time
Events- Donor and Organization
- Conceptualizing / Supporting fundraising campaigns and coordination with the Communications team for preparing required marketing collaterals and provide all required support for the event
- Providing direction to prospective companies on developing CSR policies, partnerships with CSOs and enhancing their knowledge about development sector issues; this is done by engaging them through a continued CSR dialogue event which will be led by the position holder for his/her territory
- Support all organizational events by securing sponsorships and donor participation
- Provide general support and as designated for all organizational activities and events
Thought Leadership & ExternalRepresentation:
- Proactively seeking out opportunities to represent Habitat India externally in India on issues relating to strategic and effective giving, philanthropy, Corporate Social Responsibility, social investment and social impact;
- Representing Habitat India at various national forums, in the fundraising and corporate philanthropy space;
- Helping grow and strengthen Habitat India as a brand and reputation as a provider of strategic advice and thought leadership, demonstrating value addition to corporate donors; in the space of fundraising.
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience
- Post graduate degree in business development (or) commerce (or) social sciences
- Relevant experience in fundraising or business development (6-9 years and above)
- Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi
- Proficient in operating computer, MS Office and emails
- Good inter-personal skills
- Willing to travel at short notice
- MS-Office, English Comprehension & Proficiency (Spoken and Written), Business communication
