Responsibilities

As a Team Lead, you will be accountable for the administrative and day-to-day management of various technical teams within the Global Energy Team (GET) which comprises of Energy, Sustainability, ESG & Data Science team. You will coordinate closely with GET staff to ensure the on-time, cost-effective delivery of high-quality error-free deliverables.

In this role, you will lead team meetings, and manage GET team members in our Trivandrum India office, providing constructive feedback on project performance and overall career development.  You will be reporting to and working directly with the GET India leadership team to report on the progress of different workstreams, challenges and opportunities in staffing and workflows, and to anticipate and manage structural and team changes as the team grows and evolves to meet the Practice’s needs.

As you demonstrate the ability to drive team’s success and growth and facilitate project work across multiple complex workstreams and become more involved in business and solution development, you will have the opportunity to progress to the Manager level. This position involves work split between team management and project work of about 70-30%.

Key activities include:

Team Management

  • Management and administration of multiple sub-teams and workstreams to facilitate on-time and efficient delivery of high-quality deliverables.
  • People management of the GET staff in India, with a larger role managing energy data analytics staff. Work with the team leads to guide, coach and mentor them. As a Team lead, you will be expected to participate in the performance evaluation of the GET team members.
  • Management of utilization of the team members by collaborating with GET staff to forecast the utilization; staffing GET membersefficiently to develop their technical expertise and maximize utilization.
  • Coordination of trainings for the team members.
  • Coordination of staff and GET leadership meetings.
  • Ensuring team compliance of company-wide policies and rolling out organizational updates.
  • Promoting Guidehouse RIISE values within the team and ensuring facilitation of staff initiatives, diversity, and inclusion in project teams.
  • Effective communication and coordination between GET sub-teams andGET Leadership team.
  • Responsibility to collaborate with US based energy analytics leadership team jointly with GET – Data Science leads to develop technical expertise and manage staffingResponsibility to facilitate the collaboration on projects with other teams in India such as research, data management, etc.

Project Work

Data management, including collecting and cleaning data from a variety of data sources and performing data management tasks to prepare data for analysis
Utilize professional writing, reporting and presentation skills to communicate findings to colleagues and clients while following Guidehouse best practices

  • Documentation of requirements, proposed methodology
  • Drive internal projects that will bring efficiencies in team management and develop best practices
  • Review and oversight of coding and analytical work by teammates
  • Review and refinement of mid-stream and final deliverables from a quality management and client-ready deliverables perspective while ensuring
  • Guidehouse best practices are implemented
  • Develop data models and visualization tools in excel and PowerBI
  • Expertise required in Microsoft standard suite of tools such as Word,
  • Powerpoint, Excel and preferred in other tools such as Sharepoint, Visio, Project, Teams etc. to support GET staff in efficiently delivering their projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master of Engineering with focus on data management and analytics
  • Exposure to and experience in the power and utilities industry or sustainability is highly preferred
  • Project management skills with focus on task planning, budgeting and milestone mapping etc. are highly preferred
  • 5+ years of industry work experience in a related field with experience in people management
  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative, analytical skills
  • Outstanding analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed organizational and time-management skills
  • High degree of self-confidence and determination
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in helping technical teams solves various problems by conducting research around the topic
  • A strong understanding of one or more programming languages and/or modeling platforms (e.g. Analytica, Python, R), and work experience gathering requirements, conducting analyses and/or building models using these platforms and/or languages is preferred
