1. Chief of Growth

This role will be a critical leader of Global School Leaders. Global School Leaders is on a trajectory for growth. We are seeking a Chief of Growth who can lead our scaling process with our partners and our internal team.
We are looking for an energetic, creative, inspiring leader to oversee two of our major workstreams – supporting country partners to run school leadership programs and building a global movement around school leadership – and us as the Chief of Growth.

GSL works to change that through the following workstreams:
- We catalyze and support local partner organizations to deliver and scale high-quality training to school leaders.

As Chief of Growth, you will be able to:
- Set a vision for how GSL works with partner organizations in countries around the world and support them as they build their policy and scale plans
- Develop a plan for motivating critical stakeholders in the education space to take action around the issue of school leadership
- Lead our growth both in terms of countries that we work with and in terms of the footprint of school leadership in the ecosystem
- Serve as a leader in the organization, working with the CEO and COO on fundraising, scale, internal culture, and other issues as they raise. You will manage a team that includes our expansion, communications, and fundraising efforts.
Your first year will be a success if you:
- Build strong relationships with each of our existing country partners and help develop a long-term scale and growth plan with them
- Work with our research, program, and expansion team to recruit and onboard new partners
- Manage a strong team of self-directed individuals who are aligned on efforts to scale and grow the work of Global School Leaders
- Develop a vision for the long-term life cycle of a partner working with Global School Leaders
- Understand the ecosystem of stakeholders that we need to engage around elevating the importance of school leadership
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and use their insights to develop a plan for what a movement around school leadership should look like
- Work with our communications team to plan key events and activities
- Lead our fundraising efforts, including finding funders, working with existing funders, and writing reports and proposals
- Serve as a key member of the GSL leadership team and actively make strategic decisions relating to our growth and culture

2. Special Projects Manager

This role will be a key team member at Global School Leaders. Global School Leaders is engaged in exciting projects related to school leadership development in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and we are seeking a Special Projects Manager who can be a utility player on a number of different initiatives.
We are looking for a flexible, creative, highly-skilled, collaborative individual to join our team to allow us to explore new ideas, move projects forward, and manage workstreams. In this role, you will support the Chief Executive Officer, the Interim Chief of Strategy and Operations, and the Chief of Growth in a variety of projects.

3. Director, Research
Remote
This role will co-lead the Research Team. School Leadership is a vastly understudied area of research in low and middle-income countries. GSL aims to address this challenge by collaborating with our partners, researchers, practitioners, and other similar organizations. GSL research consists of two broad functions: Program Research and Ecosystem Research. Our program research focuses on generating practice-based evidence on how to strengthen school leadership to improve student outcomes through our innovative school leader training programs. Our Ecosystem Research aims to better understand the educational contexts and systems within which school leaders are operating. We conduct and review research to understand school leader stories and what enabling factors make the biggest difference.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual to serve as one of our Research Directors. The Research Director will provide technical leadership, oversight, and coordination for some of our research projects. The Research Director will report to the Senior Director of Research.

As Director of Research, you will be able to:
- Innovate: You will co-create novel monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning instruments to track the impact of school leaders training on school practices, teaching practices, and student outcomes. You will work on global surveys, A/B testing, randomized control trials (RCTs), process monitoring, and program evaluation. You will co-develop program intervention and research design proposals.
- Direct: You will pilot, implement, and collaborate with our partners to collect, manage, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data. You will support our partners in different countries to improve data robustness.
- Collaborate: You will work closely with the Senior Director and Director of Research at GSL and all GSL team members, monitoring and evaluation teams at our partner organizations, research teams in other organizations, and academics in universities around the world.
- Contribute: You will contribute to shaping how GSL research evolves as the organization and network expand and help answer important learning questions for our network. You will participate in, and co-lead capacity-building, sharing, and learning events with our partners. The results of your work, knowledge, and expertise will benefit public-good resources for school leaders and organizations that support school leaders in low and middle-income countries.
- Publish: You will co-identify key findings from our studies, co-write publications, co-present in conferences and other speaking events, and join efforts in communicating insights from research to strengthen understanding and support for school leadership in low and middle-income countries.
Your first year will be a success if you:
- Lead sampling, instrument development, implementation, analysis, and reporting of GSL quantitative research projects, including a few A/B testings and RCTs, Annual Pulse Survey, and project monitoring and surveys.
- Cultivate and manage relationships to ensure effective communication channels across teams at GSL and with stakeholders across the partner networks.
- Seek out best practices in education and school leadership by reading and reaching out to internal team members and external partners.
- Conduct ongoing reviews, modify, and improve the effectiveness of data collection and management processes.
- Support partners to improve the collection and use of data.
- Analyze data and disseminate findings to all relevant stakeholders.

Candidate Qualifications
- You should have a Master’s in a relevant field with strong quantitative skills. For this position, we have a strong preference for candidates with training in Economics and Statistics, and we welcome recent PhD graduates.
- You have a minimum of 8 years of experience, ideally in education and conducting field experiments, but we welcome other proofs of transferable knowledge and skills.
- You have experience in conducting quantitative research and data analysis in education or other social sector programs in low and middle-income countries or other transferable skills and contexts.
- You have experience in managing quantitative surveys and data collection using SurveyCTO, Qualtrics, or other survey solutions.
- You have experience analyzing and presenting data visually and in writing to various internal and external stakeholders, and you will be asked to demonstrate your ability through an assignment.
- You have experience in conducting quantitative sampling and data analysis, proficiency in at least one of the data analysis software (i.e., STATA, R, SPSS, etc.), and you will be asked to demonstrate your ability through an assignment.
- Preferably, you are proficient in Spanish and/or Portuguese.

As Senior Manager, Operations, you will be able to:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across the organization driving internal teams to deliver to a high standard
- Support human resources activities for team members working remotely across the globe
- Support compliance procedures and governance across all aspects of the organization
Operations:
- Evaluate GSL’s processes and implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations; identify gaps and needs where processes and systems could be made more efficient
- Administer organization-wide platforms supporting GSL’s daily functions, including messaging services, video conference systems, email, password protection applications, marketing tools, etc.; identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities across suite of tools
- Responsible for procurement procedures; maintain and manage relationships with key vendors
- Review and update, as needed, policies and other team resources in collaboration with the internal GSL team and/or external resources
- Onboard team members to new policies and ensure adoption across global team
- Responsible for organization management and establishing protocols for collaborating and filing on shared drive
- In partnership with other team members, manage and maintain GSL’s key performance indicators for reporting internally and externally as required to funders.
Financial Management:
- Facilitate organization-wide budget development and management in collaboration with outsourced accounting provider and executive team
- Review monthly budget to actual financial reports with an eye for efficiency and understanding of variances
- Assist with preparation of financial reports in coordination with managed accounting service providers, as needed; assist with submission of grants and impact reports for funders
- Communicate grant reporting requirements among internal team members and manage communications between GSL and funders
- Responsible for invoicing, onboarding to payments platform and following up on payments
- Manage and maintain standard operating procedures for financial processes including employee reimbursements and timekeeping; enforce applicable policies
- Track in-kind service contributions and maintain relevant documentation from third-parties
Human Resources, Legal & Compliance
- Ensure internal policies and practices are aligned with organizational mission and values; coordinate with external resources for contractual and other legal requirements
- Administer and serve as point of contact on HR related documentation for staff; ensure compliance to all regulatory reporting, disclosures, training, etc.; keep team resources like employee handbook up-to-date
- Maintain standard operating procedures for human resources and streamline operations for HR processes and use of systems including:
- Manage recruiting efforts and refine processes around recruiting
- Lead onboarding of new employees
- Manage volunteers and internship program along with appropriate policies
- Manage employer of record systems and make use of resources provided by these services
- Ensure and implement proper compliance and governance across all aspects of the organization including
- Manage and file legal contracts based on established templates
- Customize contracts and legal documents for employees and contractors with existing templates
- Facilitate legal onboarding of independent contractors and service providers
- Manage relationship and renewals of GSL’s insurance policies
- Assist Board of Directors’ Secretary to review governance related obligations and draft appropriate documents (minutes for Board of Directors meetings, resolutions by specific committees, meet conditions for certain decisions per Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation); draft and ensure compliance with all necessary corporate documents and registrations
