  • The Center for Sustainability at EIIC Pune is looking for a technical specialist with passion and drive to help organizations make meaningful progress towards sustainability. The specialist will support Eaton’s global advanced research program and corporate sustainabiltiy groups by championing  life cycle assessment (LCA), eco-design and developing methods and tools of environmental accounting to enable Eaton’s 2030 goals across supply chain, manufacturing and products.
  • In this role, the candidate will be responsible for:
  • Leading the development and deployment of appropriate environmental accounting tools and processes across the enterprise to meet current and future business needs
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members to build skills and capacity in environmental accounting
  • Translating external trends, regulations, customer requirements and reporting needs into environmental accounting strategy and developing appropriate responses for Eaton
  • Providing guidance for the reduction and elimination of high-impact materials and collaborating with engineers in developing technical solutions for reducing the environmental impact of products
  • Representing Eaton as a technical expert on sustainability related external standard bodies, certification schemes and trade associations to develop and promote advances in industry standards and methodology
  • Collaborating with corporate and businesses in shaping Eaton’s positioning, strategy and goals on emerging sustainabiltiy topics including circularity, avoided emissions and handprints, sustainable materials and decarbonization
  • Collaborating with advanced research and technology engineers to identify and shape new opportunities and mitigate risks related to sustainability mega-trends of electrification, digitization and energy transition

Qualifications

Requirement:

  • Educational Qualifications & Job Experience: Minimum 10/14  years of related experience acriss LCA, ecodesign, energy efficiency, operations sustainability & sustainability reporting
  • PhD in engineering, sustainability or environmental science/technology/management discipline, 10+ years of relevant experience across LCA, eco-design and corporate sustainability
  • Masters in a engineering, sustainability or environmental science/technology/management discipline, 14+ years of relevant experience across LCA, eco-design and corporate sustainability
  • The candidate must have in-depth expertise in Life Cycle Assessment with proven track record demonstrated through some or all of the following:
  • Hands-on experience in 10+ LCAs including at least one ISO critical reviewed LCA experience
  • Critical reviewer for LCA (ISO 14040/44), registered EPD verifier with reputed program operator
  • Certified LCA practitioner (ACLCA), peer reviewed journal publications in LCA/Ecodesign/sustainability domain, contributions to development of industry standards & documents in sustainability, representation in industry/profressional associations or standard setting bodies like ISO, WBCSD, ACLCA, FSLCI, UL etc.
  • Demonstrate breadth of knowledge in sustainability related areas through knowledge or experience in some or all of the following:
    Sustainability reporting & relevant standards & frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, SDG etc.), ESG reporting and rating standards (MSCI, FTSE, DJSI, Ecovadis, TfS etc.)
  • Operations sustainability – environmental management systems, environmental impact assessment (EIA), energy efficiency, green buildings/LEED standards
    Water footprinting & water risk assessment, climate risk assessment, environmental valuation, life cycle costing, social impacts
  • Sustainable financing, renewable energy, carbon taxes & carbon pricing, EU taxonomy, climate risks, target setting, SDGs
  • Product stewardship & chemical regulations such as REACH, RoHS, TSCA, ELV, WEEE etc.
