ABOUT YOU

As a Manager within the People Operations team across Dalberg Americas, you will strike a balance between getting into the weeds to apply your knowledge and HR expertise and designing strategic plans for the future as a strong employee advocate. We seek an individual with the competencies below:

  • Experienced HR professional and leader. You have at least 5 years of experience leading various Human
  • Resource functions and current knowledge of federal, state, and local US employment law with strong organizational and time management skills. You have the ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial, and inclusive environment and are an effective supervisor, leader, and mentor with previous supervisor or management experience preferred.
  • Collaborative. You are able to work seamlessly with all levels of an organization to influence decision-making and achieve impact. Previous experience working with consulting teams is a plus.
  • Good Judgement: You utilize analytical skills and objectivity to make decisions, demonstrating discretion and sensitivity when dealing with confidential situations.
  • International or Cross-Cultural Experience and Skills: You are comfortable working in diverse cultural and international settings.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. HR certification a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required and fluency in Spanish is an advantage given our growing team in Latin America.
  • Candidates located in Mexico City or Bogota with a deep understanding of US HR law will be considered for the position.

WHAT YOU WILL DO 
The HR Manager The HR Manager (HRM) is a critical member of the Dalberg Americas Operations team, responsible for managing Human Resources functions for our US offices (Washington DC, New York, San Francisco, Seattle) and driving employee initiatives throughout the Americas region, including Bogota and Mexico City. This is a dynamic role that will manage benefits administration and renewal, uphold and develop our people policies and communications, and oversee our employee onboarding and offboarding processes. Reporting to the Director of People Operations of the Americas region, the HRM will work directly with the America’s regional leadership to support and retain our talent by contributing to a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership & HR AdministrationLead and manage administration of employee benefits package (insurances, 401k, Student Loan Program, Commuter Benefits, etc.), HRIS (Zenefits), etc.
  • Manage and support Employee insurance claims as needed (Short/Long Term Disability, Paid Family Leave, Worker’s Comp, etc.)
  • Facilitate and manage relationships with benefit and insurance brokers
  • Lead Benefits renewal process each year to identify and optimize the best plans and offerings
  • Support finance team in preparing monthly payroll employee changes (on/offboarding/LOA)
  • Maintain accurate information and files in HRIS, ATS, shared drive, and various tools/systems.
  • Compliance, DEI & CommunicationsDraft, update, and manage implementation of regional people policies as needed
  • Monitor federal, state and city employment and HR laws and best practices; update or implement changes as needed. Knowledge of HR laws in Mexico/Latin American is a plus o
  • Manage annual compliance reporting (e.g., EEOC reporting, 1090-C, and anti-harassment trainings)
  • Support employee requests regarding visas and work authorizations, Leave of Absences, employee transfers, and sabbaticals
  • Review and distribute the Americas Regional Newsletter monthly to enhance our regional communications.
  • Operations Associate will compile information.
  • Contribute to company strategy for DEI plan initiatives in conjunction with DEI leadership team.
  • Incorporate DEI best practices throughout each stage of the employee lifecycle.
  • Employee Onboarding & OffboardingOversee employee onboarding, including communications, scheduling, and relevant trainings related to HR (i.e., global and regional onboarding modules and other trainings)
  • Facilitate and develop staff coaching and mentoring programs (i.e., oversee Buddy pairings)
  • Oversee and conduct offboarding and Exit Interviews, contributing to retention strategy

Our current opportunity is in Bogota, Mexico City, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC.

Salary: The base salary range for this position is $100,000 – $150,000, which includes the potential to earn an annual performance bonus of up to 15%. Our salary structure is designed to be in line with that of non-profit and social impact organizations, reflecting our dedication to social impact work. This is distinct from management consultancies, which predominantly cater to commercial clients.

Benefits: Additionally, our comprehensive benefits package encompasses medical, dental, and vision coverage, mental health support benefits, parental leave, disability leave, 401k match, US student loan repayment assistance, and 20 days of vacation.

Salary and benefits details will be addressed at a later stage for candidates based in Mexico City or Bogota.
