1. Senior Programme Associate-SeaChange ANI
Number of vacancies: Two
Duration: Long-term position with 6 months probationary period.
Position details: The Senior Programme Associate will work with the SeaChange team to plan and implement interventions to improve ecosystem health and community wellbeing in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The position is based out of Andaman & Nicobar Environmental team base station in Wandoor, South Andaman.
Job Description: Dakshin’s SeaChange initiative is an integrated pathway that secures healthy ecosystems and
thriving communities. It enables inclusive, community-driven, governance models for the sustainable use of
coastal and marine ecosystems and improvement of community wellbeing through strengthening collective
action within and across coastal regions. The SeaChange team operates out of Dakshin’s field station (ANET)
in South Andaman and is working on different thematic areas in partnerships with the Programme teams in
Dakshin community and administrative departments.
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this position will be to plan and implement SeaChange interventions in coordination with the Site & SeaChange coordinators and other team members. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Planning and implementing SeaChange interventions with a systems approach in ANI.
2. Liaising with stakeholders (administration, community leaders) and maintaining necessary partnerships for
implementation.
3. Developing training materials and conduct training and workshops as needed for various stakeholder
groups such as youth, fishers.
4. Undertaking research and documentation for informing interventions as well as monitoring and
evaluation.
5. Supervising and mentoring junior team members, interns, field team members and community catalysts as
needed.
6. Assisting with donor reporting and fundraising as needed.
Candidates with the following basic qualifications/skills will be preferred:
1. Master’s degree in natural resource governance, rural/community development, public policy, or any other
related subject with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
2. Prior experience in working with rural communities and government departments on development and
environmental issues and ability to plan, strategise and course correct for implementing interventions at a block/district/regional level.
3. Proven capabilities of training, facilitation and negotiation skills in their previous work exp.
4. Previous experience of managing projects and supervising team members.
5. Good written and spoken communication skills in English and Hindi.
6. Ability to stay and adjust in a rural field site for a long duration.
7. Two wheeler driving license.
8. Understanding of coastal and marine ecosystems and fisheries will be an added advantage.
Remuneration: Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and work, in line with our internal

2. Programme Associate – SeaChange ANI (YAP)

Position details: The Programme Associate will work with the SeaChange team, Project Coordinator and Site
Coordinator to anchor the Youth Ambassador Programme and assist with the field implementation of the
solid waste management intervention in ANI.
Job Description: The position involves working with the SeaChange team in Andaman & Nicobar Islands,
anchoring the youth ambassador programme based out of Andaman & Nicobar Environmental team base
station in Wandoor, South Andaman. Dakshin’s SeaChange initiative is an integrated pathway that secures

Dakshin is initiating a Youth Ambassador (YA) programme under SeaChange to build capacities of local youth
for engaging with the community on a range of issues including solid waste management and sustainable
menstruation.
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this position will be to anchor the Youth Ambassador Programme and coordinating field implementation which will include,
1. Working with the SeaChange site coordinator and SeaChange team for planning and execution of the Youth Ambassador Programme.
2. Liaising with stakeholders (including youth, women, community leaders, local organisations, government
officials) and building partnerships as required for the programme.
3. Develop training modules and resources for training the YAs.
4. Facilitating on-ground training for the YAs, coordinating the work of the YAs in the different wards,
monitoring their work progress and providing regular mentorship and troubleshooting support.
5. Conducting community meetings and workshops with the YAs for sustainable menstrual practices and
improving solid waste management.
6. Maintaining and analysing data, report writing and fulfilling other reporting requirements.
Candidates with the following basic qualifications/skills will be preferred:
1. Master’s degree in rural/community development, development studies or any other related subject with
2-4 years of relevant experience.
2. Prior experience in working with rural communities and government departments on development and
environmental issues.
3. Prior experience in working on menstrual health will be an added advantage.
4. Ability to stay and adjust in a rural field site for a long duration.
5. Ability to independently organise meetings and undertake coordination of field logistics.
6. Two wheeler driving experience will be an added advantage.
7. Position is open to female candidates only.
8. Fluent in Hindi and English.
