The Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Hyderabad was established in October, 2001 by the then Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) in collaboration with the Department for International Development (DFID) and the World Bank to help it achieve the State’s goal of Transforming Governance. CGG undertakes action research, provides professional advice, and conducts change management programmes for government departments and agencies to enable successful implementation of their reform agenda. CGG works closely with policy-makers like Ministers, senior officials, management experts, institutions and other stakeholders, especially citizens towards building people centric governance practices.

1. Senior Knowledge Manager/Programme Manager – AMRG (Agriculture Management Resource Group)

Department / Wing: Knowledge & Research Division

Reports to: Director (AMRG)

Purpose of the Job:

  • To Promote knowledge development as per CGG’s operational business processes and action plans
  • To provide project execution level support to the Resource Group activities in Agriculture, Rural Development, Agri-Business, Natural Resources Management, Agriculture Extension and allied sectors.

Position Objectives

  • Understand the Agriculture and Rural Development landscape and scout for projects such as process evaluations, impact evaluations etc in in Agriculture, Rural Development, Agri-Business, Natural Resources Management, Agriculture Extension and allied sectors/departments
  • Understand government department/client requirements and prepare project proposals on a proactive basis
  • Responsible for networking and regular liaison with leading international and national projects and agencies engaged inAgriculture and Rural development and related areas.
  • Provide deliverables to the client as per the timelines
  • Work with other team members in achieving organization’s objectives

Job Profile
Essential PG in Agricultural Economics,Agricultural Extension, Agri-Business, Agriculture Marketing or any other agriculture , Rural Development and Food processing related discipline with 4 to 7 yearsexperience in undertaking research/consultancy work in allied sectors

Desirable

  • Work Experience in a Government Projects,
  • PhD, Certifications  and Diplomas in associated disciplines are an added advantage.

Minimum Experience Required

Sr. Knowledge Manager:Over6-10 years and above of overall experience in Consulting / Research / Training etc. with at least 4 years of experience in reputed organization projects.

Programme Manager:Over10 years and above of overall experience in Consulting / Research / Training etc. with at least 6 years of experience in reputed organization projects.

The Senior KM /PM will assist and contribute to all aspects of the Agriculture and Rural Development sectors and new business development activities. She or he will take initiatives to procure projects and responsibility for supervision of staff engaged on specific sections of a project.

Be IT literate, including competency in Microsoft Office

She or he should have expertise in at least two of the following areas:

  • Agriculture Economics
  • Agri-Business and Marketing
  • Agriculture Extension
  • Rural Development

Evidence-based policy design in agriculture and rural development sectors

 Job Responsibilities
1.To contribute to the preparation of the Annual Action Plans of the Resource Group

2. To participate in the Business Development activities such as  –

o   Liaison with key officials of the government departments and prospective organizations by submitting proposals on proactive basis

o   Preparing or contributing to the preparation of concept notes, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs)

o   Planning and implementing the BD activities as finalized by the superior officers of the Resource Group

o   Updating the superior officers of the Resource Group on the progress of the BD activities assigned / planned

5. Participate in business development by managing and winning proposals from international and national agencies and UN, World Bank aid–funded tenders

6. Contribute innovative approaches and methodologies to proposals and programmes

7. To contribute to the preparation of project plans and schedules for the projects assigned andexecute project activities, as per the project plans and schedules

8. To give inputs and guidance tothe subordinate officers executing projects / assigned activities

9. To sort out any issues emerging during the implementation of the projects and escalate the same, in case they need intervention of the superior officers

10. To participate in Monthly Reviews / Milestone Reviews to update thesuperior officers of the Resource Group on the status of assigned activities

11. To interact regularly with the clients and realize payments, as per the agreed upon Schedules of Payments

Position Objectives

  • Understand the Human Development landscape and scout for projects such as process evaluations, impact evaluations etc in Education, Health and Welfare and related departments
  • Understand government department/client requirements and prepare project proposals on a proactive basis
  • Responsible for networking and regular liaison with leading international and national projects and agencies engaged in Human development and related areas.
  • Provide deliverables to the client as per the timelines

Work with other team members in achieving organization’s objectives

Job Profile

Masters degree /PG in Economics, Social Sciences, Public Health, Development, Education, or related discipline, with 3 to 5 years’ experience in undertaking research/consultanvy work in allied domains

  • To work with other team members in achieving organization objectives
